Lo Sithole on The Real Housewives of Durban Season 5
Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Durban has officially arrived, exclusively on Showmax, and it's already causing a stir! The latest season dropped just a few days ago and has already broken the internet, with several cast members trending on X.
This exciting season brings back the legendary OGs, Nonku Williams and Sorisha Naidoo, who are the longest-serving Housewives in Africa. They are joined by Jojo Robinson and Angel Ndlela, who made their debuts in Season 2 and Season 4 respectively. Together, they will be joined by three new Housewives, ensuring a thrilling mix of luxury, personal growth, and, of course, plenty of drama.

To mark the milestone of Africa’s longest-running Housewives franchise, we caught up with one of the exciting new additions to the show, Lo Sithole. A 40-year-old pastor's wife with strong traditional values, Lo co-owns the Industrial Training Centre in Pinetown, where she helps run an artisan training school.
Alongside her husband, who operates a plant hire business, Lo and her family lead Discovery Church, balancing faith, family, and entrepreneurship.
In an exclusive interview with Lo, she opened up about why she joined the show, her relationship with her castmates and what viewers can expect from her.
Why did you choose to join the show?
My reason for joining the cast of RHOD was to have a life-changing experience, but also to offer the audience an authentic glimpse into the life of a pastor’s wife. I wanted to inspire young women in Christianity, showing them that life is still enjoyable and full of joy, even with Christ. I aimed to demonstrate that life can be lived to the fullest, regardless of my position in the church. My main goal is to remain true to myself, proving that you can be focused, determined, and still enjoy life’s blessings.
What is the difference between watching and being on the show?
As a viewer of the show, you're entitled to form your own opinions about the cast and episodes. However, being a cast member is an entirely different experience. It comes with its own set of pressures, preparations, and the challenge of meeting new people. You need to consider the views and opinions of others. Being part of the show is about building a family with your cast members, not just watching it as a viewer.
When you joined the show, did you have any cast members you admired or considered your favourites?
My favourites from previous seasons were Sorisha and Londie London, and they continue to be, along with a few other cast members like Angel and Fafa, who I’ve grown to appreciate.
Did your perspective or opinions change once you became a part of the show?
Absolutely, there is so much more that happens behind the scenes. It’s about the friendships we form, the love we share, and the immense hard work that goes into making each season a success. The audience only sees some of it – the shouting, tears, and laughter – but behind it all, we really become like family.
What valuable lessons did you learn about yourself throughout the filming process?
I've learned so much about myself. I’ve discovered the strength and resilience I carry, the patience I've developed, and the determination to make a success of anything I start.
What do you hope viewers take away from your journey on the show?
I bring an amazing, fun-filled, and calm aura to the show. I offer a lot of life lessons, and provide a glimpse into the life of a hardworking pastor’s wife - someone who is not only God-fearing but also a loving mom and a professional woman.
Why should people watch the show?
People should watch this season because there is so much to learn. Often, society places restrictions on how women, especially those in Christianity, should live their lives. This season, I wanted to break those stereotypes and show that before pastorship, we are just people who live ordinary lives, with families, careers, and emotions. Watching the show will help people realise that pastorship is not just a title; it’s a lifestyle we live every day.
How is your relationship with your castmates?
My relationship with the rest of the cast is one for the history books. It has evolved into an incredible friendship, and ultimately, a sisterhood.
