All about the romcoms
Khaki Fever
A group of game rangers run wild to see who can hook up with the most tourists during a season. The prize? The King of Khaki title, as well as the losers’ collective tips. The real challenge? Outsmarting Anel (Trix Vivier), the conservative lodge manager, who has made it clear that anyone caught fraternising with guests will be fired on the spot. Being “jags” is strictly forbidden in the game park, guys! The cast includes Christopher Jaftha, Anja Taljaard, Liam Bosman, Ilse Klink, Abel Knobel, Francois Jacobs (Kaalgat Karel himself) and Sean Brebnor – all in tight khaki kortbroek.
Gebokste Liefde
After divorced single mom Suma-Lee (Tarryn Wyngaard) is fired from her job as a fashion designer, she reluctantly joins a boxing gym, where her coach (Jandré le Roux) helps her to finally find the courage to stand up for herself and fight for what she wants: love. But will her confidence crumble when her ex, Dries (model Roche Killian), announces that he’s getting married again …to a model? Look out for Erica Wessels playing Suma-Lee's boss.
Soos Pynappel Op Pizza
Waldo (Schalk Bezuidenhout) and Becca (Kate Pinchuck) have exactly three things in common: They are both chefs. They are both single. And they both heartily dislike one another. When they end up at a wacky singles retreat in the mountains, fate keeps dumping them headfirst into one crazy scenario after the other, forcing them to reexamine what they think they know about love.
Vir Altyd
After their sparkling co-lead chemistry in Pad Na Jou Hart, it’s difficult to imagine on-screen couple Ivan Botha and DonnaLee Roberts with anyone else. Rekindling their romance in Vir Altyd, they play Hugo and Nina, childhood friends whose paths diverged only to reconnect in later life. Fate intervenes the day before Nina’s wedding, throwing her and Hugo together. This fun-loving romantic comedy adventure checks all the boxes for a satisfying summer love story, especially with the tropical island of Mauritius as a backdrop.
Matilda & Matthys
In writer-director Bibi Slippers’ debut romcom, ambitious young writer Matilda (Emma van Heyn) and super-rational tech entrepreneur Matthys (Adrian Steyn) go on a series of fake dates as research for their novel and their dating app algorithm respectively. But even the smartest people can’t outsmart love. With Bertha le Roux-Wahl, Pietie Beyers and comedian Mojak Lehoko.
Eksie Perfeksie
After impulsively moving in with his girlfriend, whom he barely knows, André (Pietie Beyers) finds out that Dalene (Emma van Heyn) is still friends with all of her ex-boyfriends. Intimidated by their presence, André tries to befriend them, only to discover that all of Dalene’s relationships follow the exact same pattern. Bobby van Jaarsveld and former Mister World South Africa Sean van Noordwyk star as just two of Dalene’s many exes.
Sy Klink Soos Lente
A little lie spirals into a big problem for mechanic Ben (Stiaan Smith) when he chats up vivacious redhead Linda (Amalia Uys) at a bar, claiming to be a member of a band after he finds out that she’s an auditor and thinks she’ll look down on him … since she’s also his boss’s daughter. Can he turn a fib into a fact before she finds out the truth? With Bennie Fourie, Bouwer Bosch, Pietie Beyers, Wilson Dunster and Elize Cawood.
Jou Romeo
High school drama geeks Yvette (Elani Dekker) and Tyler (Christopher van der Westhuizen) have to come up with a way to save their production of Romeo and Juliet after their budget gets slashed. But their plans promise trouble for the show’s hot new leading man, Marko Marais (Ruan Wessels). With Diaan Lawrenson, Sarahann Doherty, Pierre Breytenbach, and Johnny Potsanyane.
Klein Karoo 2
We’ve all been there with that horrible break-up that leaves us feeling like the world is weighing down on our chests. That’s kind of what 38-year-old Frans (Tim Theron) is experiencing in the romcom sequel to Klein Karoo. He’s been left at the altar for the second time (oh, not awkies at all) and he’s doing what some of us really need to do: taking a step back, inhaling deeply, exhaling and taking a look at where he is in life. Sometimes a fresh perspective is all that’s needed to find out what’s wrong, what’s right and what you need more of to be happy.
Klein Karoo

Young teacher Cybil Ferreira (Donnalee Roberts) gets some unexpected help from brokenhearted filmmaker Frans Coetzee (Tim Theron) when she decides to teach the children of her Oudtshoorn farm school about the pitfalls of alcohol abuse. With Hykie Berg, Sisanda Henna, Pierre Breytenbach, and Anel Alexander.
Fanie Fourie’s Lobola

Lighthearted romantic comedy based on the novel by Nape 'a Motana. Afrikaans boy Fanie (Eduan van Jaarsveldt) falls in love with a Zulu girl, Dinky (Zethu Dlomo-Mphahlele), and sets out to court her family, too, as he and his family get to grips with lobola etiquette.
Vir die Voëls

This romcom based on Irma Humple’s short story Slim Vang Sy Baas tells her real-life love story. Nurse Irma (Simoné Nortmann) falls madly in love with charming rugby player Sampie de Klerk (Francois Jacobs), one of the most popular guys in town. But independent Irma doesn’t want to get married and spend her life being subservient to any man, let alone the one standing in front of her at the altar in front of their family and friends. With Elize Cawood, Neels van Jaarsveld, and Bennie Fourie.
Hart In Bos

This short and sweet ensemble romantic comedy movie takes us along for a fun break in the small coastal village of Hartenbos, where the call is out for people to tell the local radio station how they found love in the strangest places. Even a slobby DJ could find his one and only! With Nadia Valvekens, Anton Treurnich, Ivan Zimmermann, and Hannes Muller.
Kaalgat Karel

Karel Venter (Francois Jacobs), a cheeky 30-year-old streaker from East London, is on a mission to win the heart of strait-laced single mom Rita (Christia Visser), the paramedic who rescues him after a serious accident. With Schalk Bezuidenhout as Karel’s best friend, Flip, and Siv Ngesi as his chief streaking rival, Vuyo.
Knysna

Class and love collide in this South African film about a love triangle. Dolf (Neels van Jaarsveld), a small town guy from Knysna, is content with his simple life, great friends and eccentric grandparents. But his life is thrown for a loop when he meets Stephanie (Marguerite Wheatley), a beautiful stranger who claims to be on holiday … while secretly running away from her fiancé, the Prince of Lichtenstein (Armand Aucamp).
Die Groot Twis

This Afrikaans kung fu comedy short film, starring puppets created by Marelize Viljoen, turns the Groot Trek on its head! Two men, Jakobus (Eben Genis) and Mhlope (Wiseman Sithole), are engaged in a bitter battle for what they believe rightfully belongs to them, while there’s also love to win, with the innocent (seeming) Marietjie (Cintaine Schutte).
Mini Golf

Ready for some mismatched lovers? Both Dirk (Luan Jacobs) and Cara (Lee Visagie) are forced to reconsider their life choices, dreams, and their symbolic putters when Dirk, the clerk at Sunny Putt-Putt, crosses paths with beautiful, driven lawyer, Cara.
Valentynssokkie

Valentynssokkie follows teenagers Neil (Julian Robinson) and Xanie (Desiree Theron) as they try to use their school’s Valentine's Ball to make their Matric year a bit more special. With Pietie Beyers, WS Beyers, and Reandi Grey as teachers.
Mooirivier

Filmed in Potchefstroom, this romcom follows the story of eight couples who’re on a journey to discover what love is and what it really takes to stay in love. Characters include Stefan (Hykie Berg) who has just cheated on his wife Amelia (Milan Murray), Amelia’s sister Lisa (Anel Alexander) who fancies Paul (Tim Theron) the brokenhearted widower, and hopeless romantic Janine (Leandie du Randt), whose best friend Ian (Danie Putter) is about to catch a wakeup.
Semi-Soet

When workaholic Jaci van Jaarsveld (Anel Alexander) realises that the only thing standing between her advertising company and a hostile takeover is selling the idea that she’s a traditional values girlie at heart to her new wine company client, she hires model JP Basson (Nico Panagio) to pretend to be her fiancé for a day. But this plot is about to get twistier than a corkscrew!
Sprokie in die Platteland

After battling all sorts of issues with love and her big city career, Lienke (Marguerite van Eeden) agrees to become an art teacher at the primary school she once attended as a kid. But she’s in for a shock when she finds out that her childhood nemesis Ruan (Sean-Marco Vorster), the boy next door who broke her heart, will be one of her new colleagues.
Strooi

Dewetsdorp farm girl and school photographer Madelaine (Izette Blignaut) has only just arrived in Gauteng when her car breaks down and she gets into a fight with a handsome stranger named Tony (Jefferson Jīnlòng Lan) ... only to later find that he’s the best man at her friend’s wedding, while she’s a bridesmaid.
Droomdag

In this romantic comedy written by Willie Esterhuizen, Tanya (Juanita de Villiars) is forced to take a break from dating after falling for a series of awful men … only to find the one who could be Mr Right when she’s sworn off men, despite her biological clock constantly ticking.
Hollywood in My Huis

Wallflower Jana van Tonder (Christia Visser) is basically invisible at school when she’s not being bullied by the blonde bombshell head girl Angelique (Leandie du Randt). But there is a boy Jana fancies (of course there is, it’s a romcom), and she’s hoping he’ll be her date for the Matric farewell. PS: Jana’s Matric dance dress design is based on Charlize Theron’s 2004 red carpet look the night she won her first Oscar.
Swaaibraai

Lourens (Johann Vermaak) and Susan’s (Cintaine Schutte) marriage is on the rocks, so they turn to Swaaibraai, an exclusive app for swinger parties, hoping to reignite their spark. This Silwerskerm short film dives into the awkward, comedic, and sometimes chaotic consequences of unconventional relationship fixes. Come for the poster, stay for the great storyline and acting.
