Meet the cast of Black Tax Season 2
If you haven’t already heard the news, South Africa’s funniest sitcom is back for its second season. We’re talking about Black Tax on BET Africa, which returned for a much-anticipated second season on Saturday, 9 October, and will be streaming on Showmax at the same time every Saturday.
The Showmax and BET Original returns with a blend of familiar and new faces who viewers will certainly fall in love with during the course of the season.

Here is our helpful guide to the cast members you can expect to laugh with (and laugh at!) during the course of this season.
Jo-Anne Reyneke is back as Thuli
The talented Jo-Anne Reyneke led the cast to stardom when Black Tax first debuted on our television screens in 2020. She’s back on set for the second season and her character Thuli Dlamini looks set to offer us plenty to laugh about.

Owen Sejake as Bra Hugo
Owen Sejake makes his debut this season on the hilarious sitcom as he introduces us to new character, Bra Hugo. He’s the father to another new character who we’ll introduce you to in a moment.
Motlatsi Mafatshe as Nkanyiso
Actor Motlatsi Mafatshe is another new face on Black Tax. He plays the role of Nkanyiso, Bra Hugo’s son. Motlatsi is no stranger to South African TV: he was also a cast member in local hit movie One Night Kwa Mxolisi and we expect him to deliver a laugh a minute in this role.
Asante Mabuza as Lulu
As if we weren’t excited enough by the new faces and names already, Asante Mabuza just had to increase the hype by a few notches. She plays the role of Lulu, who is Nkanyiso’s feisty daughter (and Bra Hugo’s granddaughter).

Jason Goliath returns as Antonio
Jason Goliath is another who is used to delivering a laugh a minute on stage. He was a hit in the first season and is ready to deliver even more quirky lines in the second season as the infamous Antonio.
Daniel Janks as James
James is Thuli and Antonio's narcissistic and capitalistic manager. James is a slave driver whose only interest is in the money in his bank account. And while he works Thuli and Antonio to the bone, he adds additional strain in the office by introducing unrealistic expectations. James is portrayed by Daniel Janks.

Sne Dladla returns as Menzi
The infamous Dlamini family found a way to really warm our hearts and Sne Dladla was a huge part of that. His character Menzi was one of the funniest members of the family and we’re all thrilled to see him come back.

New episodes of Black Tax Season 2 arrive every Saturday on Showmax, and the whole of Season 1 is ready to binge-watch.
