Meet the cast of Umakoti Wethu
Khathu and Sizwe have been happily married for five years. Sizwe is a young, successful doctor while Khathu is trying to start her career as a screenwriter in the film and TV industry even after years of failure.
She took a break from her work when they got married, Sizwe deciding that Khathu’s place is at home as a wife and a mother to the children they’re desperate to have.
Although she reluctantly agreed to be a housewife, she’s terrible at it, a fact that her mother-in-law never fails to mention. One day, Khathu learns that Sizwe has received a job offer from one of the hospitals in his hometown. It’s a great opportunity for him and he insists that they move.
Little does Khathu know that the move is the beginning of a very interesting journey in their relationship.
Fulu Mugovhani as Khathu
The easygoing, 28-year-old struggling screen-writer has been married to Sizwe for five years. Her dreams of being a screenwriter are about to be overshadowed by her desire for a sense of belonging.
Melusi Mbele as Sizwe
Sizwe is Khathu’s husband and a charming doctor whose subtle infidelity and control issues become apparent when his charm fails to work on a girl he’s known for a long time.
Kwanele Mthethwa as Nobuhle

Duduzile Ngcobo as Nokuthula
Sizwe’s overbearing and controlling mother is a manipulative woman with a sharp tongue. She never stops bragging about how she single-handedly raised an entire doctor.
Pascaline Phale as Miriam
Miriam is Nobuhle’s mother, who is a praying woman and a serving member of the community. Though she is hard on her daughter, deep down, she wants Nobuhle to be happy.
Nimrod Nkosi as Mzwakhe
