Frank Opperman won the 2025 Silwerskerm Award for Best Actor in a Drama as Lourens, who celebrates his 70th birthday during a tense family gathering in the opening episode. Geon Nel won Best Supporting Actor as his son, holding off stiff competition from his brothers on screen, Albert Pretorius and De Klerk Oelofse. In addition, Ilse Klink and Daneel van der Walt took home Best Actress and Supporting Actress respectively – making Nêrens, Noord-Kaap this year’s most awarded TV series.

Nêrens, Noord-Kaap is directed by Nico Scheepers and produced by Nagvlug Films – the combo that gave us Donkerbos, the most awarded series at Silwerskerm in 2023, and Hen, the most awarded film this year.

Terloops, ranking the kykNET show among the best local series of 2024, calls Part Two “exceptional… magnificent… a crown jewel in our local TV landscape.”
