Pieces of Us S1-2
The last time Serah Ndanu helmed a popular TV show in Kenya was in Dorothy Ghettuba’s hit Swahili telenovela Sumu la Penzi in 2013, alongside Neomi Ng’ang’a (Ma’Empress), Avril (World Tofauti) and Joyce Maina (Aisha).
The drama series Pieces of Us gives her just as much power as she steps into the role of Joey, a spoilt rich girl who’s used to getting her way except when it comes to matters of the heart. Joey is in a not-so-honest relationship with the equally rich Richard (played by Brian Ogola, 18 Hours, Lusala), a mama’s boy who finds himself caught up with secrets from his past that could ruin his relationship and his good family name.
Like Richard, Joey struggles to keep her own dirty secrets under wraps as they both seek to do their duty and get married to join their two family names. A relationship that began in love has now become a union of convenience, orchestrated by Richard’s mother and Joey’s father who push for marriage between the two for their own selfish reasons.
But Richard and Joey aren’t the only ones with secrets, in fact, everyone is trying to hide something, whether it’s an illicit entanglement, a secret love child, a criminal past or…a murder.
The drama series which has just concluded its second season also features award-winning actress and Riverwood nominee Riziki Ambrose (Sense 8, 18 Hours), Melissa Kiplagat (News Just In, This Is Life), Gathoni Mutua (This Is Life), Lucarelli Onyango (Socialites), Gerald Ndegwa (The Real Househelps of Kawangware), former TV host Regina Re and Rahma Nawiri (Sumu la Penzi, Auntie Boss).
Pieces of Us has been created and is executive produced by Insignia Productions’ Philippe Bresson and Grace Kahaki whose previous projects include TV shows like My Two Wives, New Beginnings and Socialites.
