The Kite Runner (2007)
Based on the bestselling novel of the same name, The Kite Runner tells the tale of Amir, who, after years of living in California, returns to his homeland in Afghanistan to help the son of his childhood friend, Hassan.
Once best friends, Amir and Hassan were torn apart by the war in their homeland. Years after they last saw each other, Amir receives a phone call that changes his life forever.
Returning to Afghanistan, he finds a country completely changed by the war, but in his quest to find the boy, discovers his ultimate purpose.
The movie was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film, and its score was nominated both at the Golden Globes and the Oscars.
