The River: Will Lindiwe survive the fire?
It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Lindiwe and it doesn’t look like things will get better any time soon. She’s made so many enemies along the way and it feels like she’s finally paying for all her sins. Missed The River last week? Let’s take you through what went down.
Tumi burns Lindiwe’s shack
Did you ever think you’d see Lindiwe apologising to Tumi? Neither did we. And that’s why we were so shocked to see her humbling herself and asking for her daughter’s forgiveness. The once prideful and arrogant mother went to the Mokoena home to tell Tumi that she’s only now realising how much she has hurt her. She also mentioned that the first time she hurt Tumi was when she left her by the river when she was just a baby. Lindiwe also apologised for making Tumi lie to Refilwe residents about the housing project, and said she hopes that one day she will be forgiven.
However, her daughter is just as stubborn as she is, so she refused to forgive Lindiwe, and told her to leave before she hurts her.

Well, it really was Tumi’s intention to hurt her biological mother and she wasn’t about to let her get away with everything she has done. So, in the evening, she went to Lindiwe’s shack, poured petrol all over it and set it on fire. While the shack was burning, Lindiwe could see Tumi standing outside and she asked for her help. But, as expected, Tumi ignored her screams – it was as if nothing was happening. We’ve seen Lindiwe coming out of really bad situations, but will she survive this fire?

Nomonde and Lindani hook up
While Lindiwe’s life continues to fall apart, Nomonde is still trying to save the mine. She hasn’t had it easy since she took over from her stepmother, but she’s determined to succeed. Although the business side of things seems to be going against her for now, it looks like her love life is slowly picking up. We had our suspicions about her relationship with Lindani, but we didn’t think it would happen this soon.
At first, Nomonde tried to keep things professional. This happened when Lindani kissed her and she stopped him and told him to leave her office. However, she quickly realised that she has strong feelings for Lindani, and she could no longer resist him.

Now that they’ve crossed the line, do you think that they will be able to find a balance between their professional and personal lives? We can only imagine how challenging this one could be. Mixing business with pleasure can be quite dangerous.
Will Nomonde and Lindani be able to make things work? We can only hope for the best. You can keep up with the new couple on The River on Showmax. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
