Tyler Mbaya on reuniting with Georgina in Take Me Home S2
Kenyan actor Tyler Mbaya, famously known as Baha from Machachari, and content creator Georgina Njenga were once Kenya’s favourite couple on the rise. The two started dating in 2020 and welcomed a child together in 2022, capturing the hearts of fans with their sweet love story.
But their romance hit rocky ground in 2023, and the couple called it quits later that year.
Now, Tyler and Georgina are reunited in Showmax’s latest season of the hit reality dating show, Take Me Home, where they must confront their past and present relationships. Will they rekindle old flames, forge new connections, or decide to part ways forever?

In an exclusive with Showmax, Tyler spills the beans on his experience and behind-the-scenes drama on Take Me Home Season 2:
What was your initial reaction when you were invited to join Take Me Home and reunite with your ex?
Honestly, the news caught me by surprise. I’ve never been part of something like this before - a group of people in a resort, all entangled in different relationship dynamics. I knew I would be spending time with my baby mama, and at first, that felt a little cringe. But I thought, ‘Why not? Let’s give it a try.’
How did you feel about living in the villa alongside your ex and their current partner?
The first few days were tricky, no doubt. Adjusting to the idea of my ex and her current partner trying to navigate their relationship while I was around felt awkward. But over time, I got used to it. It was a challenge, but I think I managed to find my balance in the situation.
Did you come into the show with the intention of rekindling the relationship, or were you looking for closure?
For me, closure isn’t something I typically need - it’s simpler for me to heal without it. But this wasn’t a relationship I could just leave in the past; she is my baby mama, so we will always have a connection. I wasn’t there to rekindle anything but to patch things up for the sake of co-parenting. Closure was important to her, and I wanted to support that to help our relationship move forward.
What was the most surprising thing you learned about your ex or yourself during the experience?
Being there put me in a self-discovery phase. I learned a lot about myself - especially about self-love. The experience also showed me the kind of energy I want to surround myself with, and I’m grateful for the good vibes I shared with others in the villa.
Were there any moments where you felt tempted to walk away from the experience?
Not really, to be honest. Sure, there was drama left, right, and centre, but I wasn’t caught in the thick of it. I saw plenty of drama every day and night, but it was kind of entertaining and amusing for me. Overall, it was all good vibes.
How do you think the show helped you in terms of personal growth or understanding your past relationship?
Spending time with my baby mama and her current boyfriend made me realise some things. In our relationship, I probably suppressed parts of her personality that I didn’t like - parts that might be her most vibrant sides. I have come to see that it’s good for her to explore those sides with someone else. I also realised we weren’t the right match, and there were signs I ignored during the relationship.
If you could swap places with anyone else in the villa for a day, who would it be and why?
Hands down, my boy Chase. That guy was living his best life - two women by his side, one on the right and one on the left. Come on, man! If I could trade places, that’s the spot I would want to be in.
What’s one thing your ex did in the villa that made you laugh or completely surprised you?
One thing that caught me off guard was how insecure my baby mama seemed about me moving on. During game night, she pulled some tantrums that I didn’t expect. I’m just a free soul and she needs to understand that.
If you had to describe your journey on the show as a movie, what would it be?
Alpha House. If you haven’t seen it, go check it out!
