Carel Nel (Captain At van Wyk)

Carel Nel plays the determined Captain At van Wyk, who heads the investigation as a dedicated detective who strives to see justice prevail, but this case haunts him for decades.

Two-time Silwerskerm winner Carel Nel is known for his roles as Karl the Android in Ridley Scott's Raised by Wolves. He has appeared in movies like Gaia, Slaaf, and Hartstog, The Chris Barnard Story. Jacques Bessenger (Dries Fourie)

Silwerskerm winner Jacques Bessenger portrays Dries Fourie, Issie’s father, whose painful journey for justice consumes him. Dries seeks peace, but his wife’s unquenchable anger and his son’s relentless search continue to open old wounds. 

Bessenger played McLeod in HBO’s Warrior, and starred as Adrian Hugo in the thrilling M-Net drama Lioness. His extensive body of work includes Koek, Donkerbos, Kanarie, Arendsvlei, and Binnelanders, all of which are available on Showmax.

Tinarie van Wyk Loots (Marie Fourie)

SAFTA winner Tinarie van Wyk Loots portrays Marie Fourie, Issie’s mother, who faces the devastating loss of her daughter. Grief consumes her, and she holds onto anger, guilt, and pain, unable to forgive, as it would mean forgetting - something she cannot do.

Neels Clasen (Henning Nel)

Neels Clasen plays Henning, Petro’s father in Niggies - a proud, strong man who upholds order and shields his family. But Petro’s murder shatters his world, distancing him from his wife, children, and even his own sense of self.

Neels is known for his roles in Getroud met Rugby, Legacy, and Die Byl.

Albert Pretorius (Gustaff Fouché)

SAFTA nominee Albert Pretorius portrays Gustaff Fouché, a relative of the victims who discovers the bodies and subsequently loses himself. Once a beloved family man, he is now consumed by anger and alcohol.

His notable works include Donkerbos and he has also played South African serial killer Stewart Wilken, aka Boetie Boer, in the Showmax Original crime drama Catch Me a Killer. His other roles include Spinners, and Devil’s Peak.

Erica Wessels (Ousus Nel)

Two-time Silwerskerm winner Erica Wessels plays Ousus, Petro’s mother, who was once the heart of the family but breaks irreparably after Petro’s murder. 

Erica is known for her role as Detective Fanie van Wyk in the Showmax crime drama Donkerbos. She has also appeared in films such as Gebokste Liefde and Selah.
