“I’m happy that I was loyal to my girl” – Sifiso on Temptation Island

Everything may or may not have changed after Sifiso had to watch Musa with the single guys every week since the show launched in August – and after Musa had to watch Sifiso with Dimpho – but here’s what they said just after being reunited at the end of the show.

It’s the morning after the final bonfire. How do you both feel?

Musa: We’re excited, we’re happy, we’re still together, and we managed to resist temptation. Everything just feels so good!

Sifiso: Everything still feels good and we’re just happy. I’m happy that I was loyal to my girl; I’m happy that I actually got to prove myself to her that I’m man enough to resist any hot single. From now on, I do believe that she’s going to trust me and we both learned a lot from this journey.

Did you feel worried about your partner at any point?

Musa: At some point I did get a bit worried during the journey because there are a lot of things happening, they are showing us a lot of things, I was worried that we might not make it. I was just so happy after everything that we still stuck to the decision to be together.

Sifiso: I’d say it was an emotional roller coaster, like wow! The things you would see at the bonfire would be crazy and you’d think, “My person is about to leave me” but it’s one of those where you just had to trust the process and believe that everything will turn out well.

What did you make of some of the footage you saw during bonfire sessions?

Musa: I saw a lot, like a lot! But at the same time, I knew that I know my boyfriend and there are things he would and wouldn’t do. The thing is during the bonfire, they would take things out of context and then try and make me think or feel some type of way. I know my boyfriend though and I’m like, “Nah, he wouldn’t do that to me.”

What was the lowest point of this journey for you guys?

Musa: My lowest point was waking up without Sifiso and not knowing what he’s doing, wondering if he’s okay. Some days I would wake up feeling bad, feeling down and emotional, but we made it through.

Sifiso: My lowest point was waking up and not waking up next to her. It hit me hard. But at the end of the day I told myself that what won’t kill me will only make me stronger. But it was an emotional rollercoaster.

What were some of the things you enjoyed the most about Temptation Island?

Musa: The one thing I enjoyed the most about this experience is that I took full advantage of it. I was having fun, I was living in the moment, living with 10 single other men and getting to be the center of attention. But still, they were all nothing like Sifiso; I just couldn’t connect with them the way I connect with Sifiso. As much as I had fun and everything was nice, there’s a lot I learnt about myself – it was amazing!

Sifiso: I also took a lot from Temptation Island. I now see that I know how to cook! I do believe I will be helping my woman to cook. I also got to learn a lot about myself that I didn’t already know. I can now say what kind of person I am. I also got to appreciate my person. I knew I loved her, but now I have a newfound respect for what that means.

What did your experience on Temptation Island teach you about yourself?

Musa: Well, for me, Temptation Island taught me to be loyal. It taught me to believe in myself and have confidence and not doubt myself.

Sifiso: Temptation Island taught me to just trust everything. To trust the process and just trust the fact that everything happens for a reason. You need to go through certain things to be able to learn from them. I think you never lose. You either win, or you learn something from everything you go through. I also learned that the law of attraction is real. If you think negative thoughts, negative things will happen. If you think positively, positive things will happen. I learnt a lot; I can’t put a number on everything I picked up. Most of all I got to learn that I am a loyal man and I do really love my girlfriend.

Did you have a great first night together after the final bonfire?

Both: We did!

Musa: We had a lot of catching up to do, and a lot of things to do. We had a lot of fun.

Sifiso: We had fun last night for sure. I’m just so happy, you know? It was like I was dreaming. I haven’t seen her in what feels like years and it was great. I appreciate her more now, because I have an idea of what it’d be like if I lost her. I’m happy!

What are you looking forward to revealing at the reunion?

Musa: We don’t kiss and tell!

Sifiso: You’ll just have to tune in to see. We’ll just leave people in suspense!
