The Bleeder (2016)
Liev Schrieber (Ray Donovan) stars in this biographical sports drama about Chuck Wepner, a boxer who, in 1975, dared to challenge the heavyweight champion of the world, Muhammad Ali, to a title fight.
Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, Chuck was nicknamed the Bayonne Bleeder, and had a career marked by notable losses and a few wins up until his famous fight with the Champion. The film chronicles his life and the fight that defined him.
Liev is joined in the cast by Naomi Watts and Elisabeth Moss as two of his wives, and Pooch Hall, his Ray Donovan co-star, as Muhammad Ali. Morgan Spector (Homeland) plays Sylvester Stallone, who was inspired by the fight to write the screenplay for his 1976 Oscar winner, Rocky.
