The Queen: Vuyiswa’s trauma hits home with many South Africans

What was meant to be a night out with the girls turns devastating for Vuyiswa.

Vuyiswa is left vulnerable and alone

Tembisa police station is filled with joy after Vuyiswa is given a recognition award for the highest number of cases solved. She and Georgina decide to celebrate at The Corner House. Unfortunately, the happy night soon turns into a nightmare …

When she wasn’t looking, someone spiked Vuyiswa’s drink. She manages to get herself home but it is evident that someone followed her and while she’s passed out, the intruder sexually assaults her.

Triggers everywhere

It’s a sad fact that many viewers relate to what Vuyiswa is going through, and were triggered by the heartbreaking scenes as Vuyiswa tries to process the ordeal that she’s gone through.

Where were Thato and Jackal?

Thato is still heartbroken about Mpho and Schumacher’s new relationship and his father, Jackal, insists they go on a weekend trip, leaving Vuyiswa alone at home.

Viewers are still in the dark about the identity of the rapist, but the voice sounded to many like the new cop, Eric (portrayed by Sisa Hewana).

Immediately after forcing himself on Vee, his phone rings and the voice of the caller on the other end sounds like Jackal. Could it be that Thato’s father is behind all of this? If so, why?

Vuyiswa’s struggle

No matter how much she wants to avoid or forget what happened, the intensity of the nightmare still lingers in her mind. And the more she avoids it, the more she takes it out on those close to her.
