The River: Tumi rejects Lindiwe

Ever since Dambisa said all those mean things to Lindiwe about two weeks ago, the businesswoman hasn’t been well. She’s been moody, crying herself to sleep and she even collapsed in front of her husband and children. This is all due to the stress of not having a proper relationship with her first child, Tumi.

Things got so bad for her emotionally that she even decided it was time to make peace with her estranged daughter. Lindiwe shocked her family members by telling them that she’d reach out to Tumi and try to make peace. She kept her word and went to Refilwe to see Tumi. Lindiwe apologised for all the pain she’s put Tumi through and asked if they could start afresh.

No love for Lindiwe

Tumi, however, wasn’t having any of that. She told her mother to leave because she clearly wants nothing to do with her. Lindiwe wasn’t ready to give up, though, and tried again to make things right. After hearing about Tumi and Lindani’s upcoming wedding, Lindiwe gifted her daughter with R100 000.

Lindiwe asked and begged Tumi to give her a chance to be the mother that she never was to her. They both started crying and Tumi told Lindiwe that she’s still hurting because of her. And, although Tumi accepted the cash at first, she returned it to Lindiwe the following day. The mining mogul didn’t receive this well and snapped. She changed her tone and told Tumi that she’s done trying. Tumi wasn’t surprised by the dramatic reaction and made it clear that she can’t be bought. She walked away while Lindiwe stood in her office and tried to digest being told that she’s a pathetic excuse of a mother.

The Mokoenas and Dlomos make peace

While one part of her life is not coming together, at least Tumi has one thing to be happy about. She is getting ready to spend the rest of her life with the man that she loves.

Although the lobola negotiations got off to a rocky start – thanks to Zodwa and her drama –the Mokoenas and Dlomos eventually came to an agreement and R40 000 was paid. Fortunately, the families have also settled their differences and there will be a wedding soon.

Now the question we can’t help but ask is: will Lindiwe be invited to the wedding? We think Tumi still needs some time to heal all the wounds inflicted on her by her mother. Maybe she’ll be able to forgive her after focusing on dealing with the past first. This is one wedding not to be missed! Make sure you follow The River on Showmax to catch the latest updates. New episodes air 15 minutes after the DStv broadcast.
