Keeping up with the BBNaija stars 1

If there’s anything we can always count on, it’s that BBNaija stars will always give us something to talk about. Whether they’re giving us God when vibes with their newest acquisition or having a gbas gbos moment with their fellow ex-housemate or follower(s), these guys are never lacking in content.

In this series, we shine the spotlight on some of Naija’s MVPs otherwise known as BBNaija stars. Here’s a recap of what some of your faves have been up to since the year kicked off.

Nengi’s birthday dinner

January 1 ushered in a new age for Nengi Pengi as she turned 24. In true Nengi style, the soft-spoken beaut celebrated the day with an intimate pool side dinner that was graced by fellow BBNaija stars including Laycon, Liquorose, Neo and Lilo.

As always, Nengi stunned in a beautiful brown number that left us speechless even as the Ninjas came ready and presented their queen with a cheque of 10 million naira, huge money cakes, cash bouquets and many other gifts. Ozo was however significantly absent at the dinner. We guess it’s safe to say that the ship has capsized.

Vee tells off a nosy fan on IG live

Speaking of capsized ships, it seems like Neo and Vee’s ship may have suffered the same fate. Earlier in the year on her IG live, Vee sang “mind your business” in response to a nosy fan who kept asking about Neo. We noticed a lot of people had been asking the same question in Neo and Vee’s comment sections respectively over the last few weeks, but we thought nothing of it until Vee’s Instagram live outburst early January.

This is a sight we never thought we would see in a million years. You would recall that Tolani Baj and Vee’s once rosy relationship suffered a setback after a conversation she had with Erica surfaced. In said conversation, Tolani had revealed that she had eyes for Neo, a revelation that did not sit well at all with Vee. Things then almost came to blows during their Big Brother reunion show.

You can then imagine our surprise when Tolani Baj and Vee were sighted killing it on the dance floor together. Have the ladies decided to squash their beef? In all of this, we feel bad for Tbaj and Vee fans who carried this beef on their heads. Look at them now, in the mud.

Tochi’s proposal brouhaha

Tochi made headlines early last week after his grand proposal to his American-based girlfriend. However many expressed skepticism over the move. A lot of the comments online speculated that the lady in question wasn’t really interested in marrying him. Many cited the way he held her hand so tightly and her demeanor in the proposal video as evidence that she was uninterested. It seemed like people were just trolling untill the bride-to-be posted a cryptic message on her IG story that read:

 “There is so much more to life than the attention/validation that you seek so much from the outside world, but it’s not me that’s gonna be used to trend. Everybody rest IJN.”

Shortly after, Tochi deleted the proposal video from his Instagram page. We can’t help but wonder if the proposal was genuine or just another publicity stunt. Either way, we assume it’s safe to say we won’t be getting a BBNaija wedding from Tochi anytime soon.

Vee’s mystery man

Vee was in the spotlight yet again as she showed off a mystery man on her Instagram story. This came amidst her rumored break up with Neo and her dance off with TBaj earlier on. 

As expected, the photo was met with mixed reactions. Some were impressed by her rebound game and others seemed to think she’s trying to pepper Neo who has been significantly quiet and has not once commented on their rumored break up.

In all of this, we feel bad for the VeeNeo shippers because they’re probably all drowning, now that this ship appears to have sunk to the bottom of the ocean.
