The Real Housewives of Lagos episode 6 recap: All the moments that had us screaming this week

The Real Housewives of Lagos episode 6 continued to give us the content we signed up for and we couldn’t be more excited.

This week, the ladies come together to support Laura as she launches her new collection, and as we already know, where two or more housewives are gathered, let the shade-fest begin.

Here are all the moments that had us screaming this week.

Toyin goes to the zanga

In the first episode of The Real Housewives of Lagos, Toyin teased the ladies about taking them to the mainland, aka the zanga, to introduce them to the crazy streets.

This week, we saw the fashion goddess make good on that promise and, boy, were we in for a ride! To celebrate her 40th birthday, Toyin hit the crazy streets of Obalende to distribute items at the mosque. But it didn’t end there. In appreciation of her kind gesture, the boys in the hood took turns in performing freestyle verses for her while she danced. As if things weren’t already turnt, media personality Denrele also joined the celebration, cheering the boys on as they performed. All we can say is, ain’t no party like a Toyin party!

Meanwhile, Laura pulls up in grand style and is clearly not feeling the zones. However, like a good sport, she joins Toyin on the party truck while closely guarding her Chanel bag because like every true Lagosian knows, you gats shine your eye on the streets of Lagos. The ladies are also joined by Mariam, who seemed to fit right in because “with me, you can put me anywhere, put me on the streets we move!”

Okay gurrl!

Carolyna gives her hot take on Mariam

Since Mariam was introduced to the crew, she’s complained to the rest of the ladies, including Chioma, earlier in the episode, that Carolyna was the one person who gave her a cold reception. So, like the true sis she is, Chioma relays Mariam’s complaints to Carolyna with the hopes of smoothening things between the pair.

“I don’t know her, am I supposed to hug her?”.

Carolyna goes on to share how she thought Mariam was a tad Over The Top (OTT) during the slumber party when she spoke of having had a threesome.

To cap things off, Carolyna recounts how Mariam greeted her by saying “Hello b*tches”, after having not seen her in a long time.

“I’m a mother, a working-class woman. I’m not going to walk into a space where I’m trying to get to know women and just start shouting hello b*tches.”

In the end, Carolyna accepts Mariam’s invitation via Chioma to a soiree at hers, opting to get to know Mariam first.

“It’s not a problem, I’ll get to know her but I also have a choice to decide who should be my friend and who shouldn’t be my friend and no one is going to decide that for me.”

We certainly can’t wait to see how this plays out.

New beef alert

The ladies converge for Laura’s fashion show, and in true style, Chioma arrives fashionably late but that’s okay because according to her “I look amazing and I’ve lit up the place”.

Talk about Big D energy!

Carolyna arrives soon after and right off the bat, it’s clear that the long whispered beef between herself and Toyin has resurfaced.

“I can’t even remember if I said hello or not,” Toyin says dismissively in her diary session.

Issokay.

Toyin continues in her diary session that she didn’t expect to see Chioma and Carolyna because she thought they weren’t invited.

“Being fake doesn’t work for me, when they come everybody is pretending, cut that s*it! I’m done being chilled.”

Okayy, looks like there’s a new beef squad in town.

Chioma and Toyin shade Laura’s collection

Chioma had plenty to say about Laura’s collection – no surprise there, and had us screaming when she casually said “this sort of thing I would wear to stay at home, possibly go to sleep, I would not wear this anywhere.”

Ouch!

Meanwhile, as we’re still trying to get over Chioma’s comment, Toyin, who is sitting next to Chioma, goes on to show Chioma her pieces while Laura’s show is going on.

“Toyin showing me her pieces at Laura’s fashion show is giving me competitive. I don’t think it’s the appropriate time to be showing me your stuff at your friend’s fashion show.”

Talk about a shade-fest.

Iyabo and daughter Priscilla walk the runway

The Real Housewives of Lagos

Away from the shady moves, Iyabo and Priscilla certainly had us screaming when they walked the runway together, or like Chioma put it, “this mother, daughter duo is everything for me, it’s giving me life. My ovaries are jumping and bubbling.”

They each walked the runway solo initially, with Iyabo bringing in her brand of energy to the walk, much to the excitement of the ladies.

However, Toyin didn’t miss a moment to tease Iyabo about opting to model a crop top and mini skirt while her daughter modelled a loose-fitting shirt and pants.

“This Iyabo doesn’t want to get old, what is her problem? Iyabo, rest, in Jesus name!”

Toyin takes on Carolyna and Chioma

Just when we’re thinking all is well that mostly ends well, Toyin goes on a shade-fest.

Clearly still surprised that Carolyna and Chioma showed up for the event, with Carolyna even wanting to purchase some of the pieces, Toyin shares that there’s some pretending going on.

“It’s okay not to show up for the event so that Laura would know you people have a problem then you sit down and settle it. Don’t pretend like it’s okay.”

Shocked that Carolyna wants to buy some items from the collection, Toyin explodes during her diary session, “You don’t even like Laura, stop this! What are you doing?”.

At this point, we’re side-eyeing the entire group.

Laura’s shady toast

Having successfully pulled off her long-anticipated fashion show, Laura proceeds to give a toast, but not without some shade.

“I wanted to make a toast to better friendship but I just looked at Chioma’s face (bursts into laughter).”

The toast doesn’t sit well with Chioma, who thinks that, at this point, she lives rent-free in Laura’s head.

“Laura, it’s your day, it’s your event, own it. Your whole entire existence cannot be about me.”

Continuing, Chioma shares that she thinks Laura “clearly wants this friendship and she’s going about it the wrong way.”

Peacemaking in the mud.

With so many things left unsaid and feelings bubbling under, will the ladies eventually confront their issues head on?
