The River: Lindiwe gets her revenge on Minister Joyful
After finally getting everything she wanted, including remarrying Zweli, Lindiwe has her sights set on getting back at everyone who kicked her when she was down.
Lindiwe frames Minister Joyful
One of the people on her agenda was Tshabalala. Remember how mean he was to her when she was still staying in Refilwe? He even suggested that she sleeps with him after she asked for his help. Now that she’s back in a place of power, Tshabalala decided to humble himself and ask for forgiveness.
He admitted his wrongdoings and vowed to right his wrongs, going as far as telling her that he would do anything she asked for. You know Lindiwe loves it when people are at her mercy and the conversation with Tshabalala came at the perfect time because there were two other people on Lindiwe’s list of enemies that needed to be dealt with.
After making peace with Tshabalala, Lindiwe went after Matilda. This is the same woman who once made Lindiwe the laughing stock of Refilwe, and we assume that’s why she had to be eliminated. With Tshabalala’s help, Lindiwe managed to get rid of Matilda and guess who took the fall? Minister Joyful! Yes, she’s also one of the people who refused to assist Lindiwe after she had lost everything.
It was sad to see the minister being arrested for a crime she didn’t commit, but someone has to be held accountable for Matilda’s death, right? In this case, it had to be Joyful, unfortunately.
After dealing with the minister, Lindiwe’s next task was to make sure that she makes things right with Refilwe residents. She gave them a speech and managed to fool them, just like old times.
Cobra gets his act together
Meanwhile, on the other side of Refilwe, Cobra is busy trying to pick up the pieces of his life after his drinking problem almost cost his life. He was saved by his aunt, Kedibone, who came in just as he tried to commit suicide.
We can already tell that Aunt Kedibone is the help the Mokoena children didn’t know they needed. After rescuing Cobra from his suicide attempt, she used drastic measures to ensure that he quits alcohol. Kedibone locked him inside a room and watched as her nephew struggled with withdrawal symptoms. Although it was painful to see, she knew that he was too far gone and that this would be the only way to help him. This is definitely tough love. It looks like her intervention helped because we can see that Cobra is slowly getting back to his old self.
He’s definitely regaining his senses because he realised just how wonderful Paulina was to him. After this revelation, Cobra went to his ex and told her how he feels about her, and asked that they get back together. However, Paulina was a bit hesitant.
It’s clear that they both still love each other, but is this enough? Only time will tell.
