To Have and To Hold S1

For Akosua, Enyonam and Kuukua, the three women at the centre of the new Ghanaian drama To Have and To Hold, the pursuit of love is not easy.

At first glance, these three best friends seem to have their lives figured out: Akosua with a great career and a loving husband; Enyonam with a husband who, despite not having much, is working hard to take care of her and their two kids; and Kuukua, with a rich man who’s ready to give her everything she wants. But sometimes, even the most perfect relationships can disintegrate when you least expect it.

Adapted from the South African series Unmarried, which also birthed another adaptation in Nigeria, To Have and To Hold follows the lives of these three women as they deal with the challenges that their marriages, relationships, and careers throw at them.

The Akwaaba Magic drama series, which is also available to stream on Showmax, is helmed by legendary Ghanaian filmmaker Ivan Quashigah (Things We Do for Love, YOLO), with award-winning Ghanaian actors as its leading ladies.

Starring Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice and Africa Movie Academy winner Lydia Forson (A Sting in a Tale, The Perfect Picture) as the ambitious and career-driven Akosua; Africa Movie Academy winner Naa Ashorkor (The Best Picture, Checkmate) as housewife Enyonam; and Fashion icon and Golden Movie Awards winner Zynnell Zuh (When Love Comes Around, Crazy, Lovely, Cool) as Kuukua, a go-getter with a taste for the finer things in life.

To Have and To Hold also stars Adjetey Annang (Dede, Cartel: The Genesis), Ekow Blankson (Black Earth Rising, Checkmate), Kweku Elliot (An African City) and former Big Brother Africa housemate Elikem Kumordzie (Silver Rain).
