The Mommy Club Sugar & Spice: Kim's motherhood journey
It takes a village to raise a child, right? That’s a famous saying that is proving to be true on The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice. On the latest episode of the Showmax Original series, the ladies gathered for Kim’s baby shower and celebrated her journey to becoming a mother. Not only that, but they shared some wise words about motherhood, exchanging personal stories that could help the mommy to be.
Bring your best foot forward
Kim asked the ladies what mothers judge each other on and what she should stay away from when it comes to opinions.

“Mothering does not come with a manual. The biggest thing is that you cannot judge yourself by other people’s standards,” Resh said. She said it’s always important that you bring your best self forward so that you can be a better mom to your children.
"You know my eldest is 21, and then 18 and 14. With that entire journey, what I’ve learnt is that you’ve got to do you. At the end of the day, it’s just an opinion. You have to do what works for you and baby,” Lenore shared.

Motherhood’s unexpected turns
Meanwhile, Devina highlighted the fact that children come with their own personalities. “And their personalities will take you by surprise because you’re raising them by the book.”
She revealed that for about 15 years she was an educator, adding: “It just happens that way. We’re all thinking the same thought. As I sat there and Kim is receiving the information, I remembered when I first found out that I was pregnant.”
Devina also told the ladies about her tough journey to motherhood, including having miscarriages. Her story was received with great sensitivity.

“I feel for her. I think that life happens. And when life happens you really can lose yourself. So, I’m so proud of the fact that she’s now picking herself up again, putting herself out there, trying to be true to herself and as fabulous as she can,” Losh said.
