Showmax and Vodacom share R69 streaming data deal
Showmax and Vodacom have launched a data-saving deal for mobile streaming fans. The R69 monthly deal bundles a Showmax Mobile subscription with 10GB Showmax data per month for the first three months, and then 3GB of Showmax data thereafter to help customers stream their favourite content. The deal is exclusively available to customers on the Vodacom network.
Paired with Showmax’s data-saving features, like the recently released Max Data Saving mode (now available on iOS devices) that uses just 50MB per hour, subscribers who take up this deal will be able to binge-watch up to 200 hours of Showmax, including full seasons of series like The Wife.
Showmax is the best place in Africa to stream both local and international series, according to the recent results from the SAFTAs and the Primetime Emmy Awards respectively. Content on Showmax won 28 Emmys, including Outstanding Drama (HBO’s Succession) and Limited or Anthology Series (HBO’s The White Lotus, the Emmys’ biggest winner this year with 10), as well as 45 SAFTAs, with the Showmax Originals Tali’s Baby Diary and Glasshouse the two joint biggest winners overall.
Plus watch the latest season of Uthando Lodumo, with Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha; the critically acclaimed new documentary Steinheist from the makers of Devilsdorp; and Blood Psalms, the epic African fantasy that everyone is talking about.
“We know that budgets are tight,” says Nathan Hanley, Chief Expansion Officer – Showmax. “Partnering with Vodacom, we have come up with a generous streaming data deal, just in time for the festive season when families are looking for affordable entertainment. This is just one of the ways Showmax is making streaming more accessible; we’re exploring more exciting opportunities with our friends at Vodacom, so stay tuned!”
The Showmax data deal is available at www.showmax.com/vodacom.
