Uthanda Bani: Busi can't get enough of the soil
Have you ever thought you’d see the day where soil would come between lovers? Well, it turns out it’s a real problem. Sibusiso, who’s been dealing with his girlfriend’s addiction for a few years now, has had enough. According to him, the issue has caused many problems in their relationship and he’d like Uthanda Bani to intervene before it gets out of hand.
“The soil has ruined things for us. To a point where I don't trust her anymore, to love her and take care of her... She's taking dirt from the streets and consumes it,” he shared. Sibusiso described his partner as his “flower”, adding that he loves her. While they promised to support each other until the end, this is something he wants no part of. He said Busi can’t live without consuming soil. “When we're happy, it [the soil] has to be there. When we're angry, the soil has to be there. When we're together the soil has to be there.”

Sibusiso, who’s known Busi for seven years, said things changed when they started having relationship issues. “She's just like someone who smokes marijuana. If she gets her fix, she becomes better... When she hasn't eaten soil she's like a flat battery,” he revealed.
When confronted about the problem, Busi told Basani: “It's not causing any damage. I didn't know that it's affecting him that much ... I didn't think it was a problem.”
She said the habit started when she was between 14 and 15 years old. And now, 15 years later, the addiction has affected her romantic relationship so badly that her partner is desperate for help. He mentioned that Busi’s soil addiction might even have led to her miscarriage. “That's why I decided to get up and find people who will help,” he said on the show.
Meanwhile, Busi didn’t want to talk about the miscarriage. “The miscarriage doesn't sit well with me. The doctor didn't say anything. He didn't say much. The baby was not growing well ... Sibusiso blames the soil for everything,” she said.
Towards the end of the show, Busi admitted that she indeed has a problem. “The first thing I think about in the morning is soil. I must have it before I sleep. When I have coins, I think about buying soil.” She apologised to her partner and told him that she’d try to get back to her old self, without the soil.
