20% off your Showmax subscription: terms and conditions

1. Introduction

1.1 Showmax is offering certain qualifying Subscribers this limited 20% off your selected Showmax Plan promotion (“20% Off Promotion”) from 8th August 2024 to 30 September 2024 (“Promo Period”). These are the terms and conditions for the 20% off Promotion (the “Terms”) that shall be available to qualifying Showmax customers for the Promo Period.

1.2 These Terms are supplementary to the Showmax Terms and Conditions, the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use that can be found at https://www.showmax.com/za, and apply to the use of the Showmax Service for the duration of the 20% off Promotion. Please read these Terms carefully. By participating in this 20% off Promotion, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older and agree to abide by and bound thereto.

1.3 “Showmax Service” means the service offered by Showmax which is the trade name and trademark proprietary to Showmax SA Proprietary Limited if you are a customer that is resident in South Africa.

1.4 The Showmax Service may be accessed through an application or a website and, which allows the subscriber to access Live TV, Video On Demand (VOD) film, series and kids content on their Devices.

1.5 Showmax subscribers can stream or temporarily download television shows, movies, video or audio clips and other audio-visual materials ('Content') by using an electronic device which is capable of connecting to the Internet, including but not limited to computers, mobile phones, tablets, media players, smart TVs, decoders, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, media adaptors, and other similar devices, which devices comply with the technical requirements to access the Content as set out on the Showmax Website ('Access Device').

1.6 In order for Showmax customers to access and receive the Showmax Service using certain Access Devices, Showmax has developed or made available the Showmax software application ('Showmax App'). Access Device, Showmax Device and Showmax App constitute a Showmax Platform.

1.7 You can access and receive the Showmax Service through the showmax.com website and any other platforms that Showmax may make available for receiving the Showmax Service.

2. 20% Off Promotion

2.1 The 20% Off Promotion applies to these qualifying Customers, that, immediately before 8th August 2024:

• had a registered subscription of any one of Showmax’s subscription plans, and who have subsequently deactivated or terminated their subscription to Showmax for whatever reason;
• had a Showmax bundled subscription plan (two subscription products bundled as one plan);
• either paid for their Showmax subscription plan using their airtime and data plans via their mobile network operators and our partners, MTN and Vodacom;
• paid for their Showmax subscription plan using their credit card; and,
• whose abovementioned subscription plans were on a recurring payment basis.

2.2 The 20% Off Promotion is available to qualifying customers during the Promo Period in the Republic of South Africa (“the Territory”).

2.3 The 20% Off Promotion applies to Customers who purchase either one of the following Showmax subscription plans:

• General Entertainment All Devices;
• General Entertainment Mobile; or,
• Premier League Mobile.

2.4 The Promo subscription plans must be purchased on a recurring 6 months period basis or recurring 12 months period basis with your preferred payment method using either your valid credit card details or the channels offered by mobile network operators partners, MTN or Vodacom on the Showmax Platform.

2.5 Customers must purchase the offer 20% Off Promotion between 8th August 2024 - 30 September 2024 (“Promotion Redemption Period”) to enjoy the benefit of 20% off.

2.6 To activate your 20% Off Showmax benefit, these are the steps you will have to follow:

• Go to showmax.com to sign in.
• Sign in using your existing Showmax login details and select "Account".
• Once in Account, select Plans and Payment tab;
• Add either one of these access codes in the "Have a Voucher or Promo Code" field,, to activate your 20% Off Promotion:

- General Entertainment All Devices - SMX20ALL

- Premier League Mobile - SMX20PL

- General Entertainment Mobile - SMX20MOBILE

• Click "Apply".
• Confirm your selection by clicking "Yes, redeem now".
• Subscribe to Showmax using your preferred payment method.

2.7 Only one promotion access code will be made available per customer in the Territory.

2.8 Upon purchase, the 20% Off Promotion access code will be applied to the Customer’s Showmax subscription account in the following month’s bill, for a period of up to 6 months or 2 months depending on the payment plan purchased. It is important to note that the 20% Off Promotion access code will be applied to the relevant Showmax subscription pricing, as amended from time to time.

2.9 Showmax reserves the right at any time and for any reason to terminate the 20% Off Promotion.

2.10 The Customer must continue to pay and service his or her account for the recurring subscription period selected during the Promo Period to enjoy the 20% discount.

2.11 Qualifying customers are required to be resident and take-up the offer in the Territory.

2.12 The price discount calculation is rounded up to whole numbers, always to the benefit of a customer.

2.13 Showmax reserves the right to determine whether you are eligible for the Showmax 20% Off Promotion.

2.14 In case of a discrepancy between these Terms and the Showmax Terms & Conditions, the provisions of these Terms will prevail.

2.15 Showmax reserves the right at any time and for any reason to terminate the Showmax 20% Off Promotion.

2.16 Customers who do not reside in the Territory and/or who did not receive the offer directly from Showmax will not be eligible to participate in this 20% Off Promotion.

3. Privacy

Showmax will process your personal data for the purpose of offering you this 20% Off Promotion by e-mail and/or by SMS, and your subscription to the Showmax Service as more fully described in the Showmax Privacy Policy which you can find at https://stories.showmax.com/privacy-policy/

The Showmax Privacy Policy is updated from time to time, and it explains how we treat your personal information, who we share your information with, and measures taken to protect your privacy when you use our Showmax Service. If you do not wish to receive any promotional or marketing material from Showmax, you can change your marketing preferences in the settings toggle of your account in Showmax or by sending us your opt-out on help@showmax.com.
