Bae Beyond Borders Season 1 finale: It's a yes from all four ladies
Is love beyond borders possible? That was the question on the ladies’ minds as they reflected on their time with the gents on the latest episode of Bae Beyond Borders. After spending a few weeks with their men in Lagos, Nigeria and Cape Town, South Africa, they had to decide whether or not they’d be moving forward with their relationships. Was all the time they spent together enough to build strong connections?

The ladies had to look back at the last couple of weeks and consider everything that has happened – whether good or bad – in order to reach their final decisions. Before informing the gents about where they stand, they had a few words to share.
Reflection time
“I’ve had a lot to think about since last night’s incident,” Vuvu said, referring to Peter and Luciano’s altercation. The gents had a heated exchange after Peter discovered that Luciano had tried to kiss Zezethu, which almost ended in a physical fight.
“This is finally D-day for me. And I have made my decision,” Nande said before facing Daniel. “I have followed my heart and I’m happy with the decision that I’ve made,” she added.
Mali admitted that she had to fight for Promise. “My journey was shaky, you know? But I’m happy that he’s here. Today I’ll find out if it was all worth it. I hope it was, though.” Meanwhile, Zezethu has had to do some introspection. “I had to reassess my decision and consider everything that happened yesterday. At this point it’s very unclear,” she shared with a heavy heart.
Decision time finally arrived, and the ladies delivered the news to the gents.
Yes, any day
Vuvu told Chidu: “The reason why I wanted to be here with you today is basically just to say thank you. Thank you for doing this and being on this journey with me. Thank you for being the calm to my storm because I know I’m a lot.”
She then asked if he would be her bae beyond borders. He said yes.

Mali left the ball in Promise’s court. “Well, I feel like I fought for you to be here. I know how I feel about you. So, the ball is in your hands because I clearly know what I want and I want to be with you,” she told him. He responded, “Choosing me and later changing your mind and all that. I told you it was a very big thing for me to process.” He realised that he had a difficult decision to make. However, in the end, he ended up choosing to be with Mali. “I will say yes to you any day, any time, any minute. You are an amazing person,” Promise told Mali.

Love exists, despite the challenges
It was then Nande’s turn to face her man. Before she could talk, Daniel told her: “You’re an amazing person. You’re beautiful. You’re smart. You’re funny. You know how to cook. You’re very respectful. I love the way you look at me … I know you’ve never seen me this serious. I’m kind of nervous.”
Despite the distance, he wants them to build together. “When two people like each other and want to grow together, distance is nothing,” he said, adding that he wants her to be his girlfriend.

Peter, on the other hand, was worried about how Zezethu would receive him after his incident with Luciano. “I haven’t actually spoken to him. He’s just been texting me, apologising and apologising. And I need to make a decision,” Zezethu said. He first told him that they started their journey on a positive note, and that they connected from the get-go. They also spent a lot of time together because they were the first to lock it in.
“I had an amazing time with you. You showed me love. You, I mean, you were the man that you said you were.” However, after the altercation, she saw a side that didn’t sit well with her. “Yesterday was a lot. It was a lot. It was unacceptable. It made me see you in a different light. It just left me in a really confused state. So, I had to do a lot of thinking,” she told Peter.
In the end, Zezethu chose to be with Peter.
