Discontinuation of Showmax outside of sub-Saharan Africa

As of 1 December 2023, Showmax will no longer be available outside of sub-Saharan Africa. This is a strategic decision to allow the business to focus specifically on the African market.*

Customers in countries outside of sub-Saharan Africa will not be able to take up a subscription as of 2 October 2023. Customers who are on an auto-renewal subscription will not be charged after 30 October 2023, and can continue to stream Showmax until the last day of their subscription.

Showmax Original content is primarily created for the Showmax platform, but should that change, we will advise. A selection of co-productions and Originals will be available on other entertainment platforms across the globe from time to time and we will continue to explore new and exciting entertainment solutions for our African content fans.

*Note: The new Showmax will be available in 44 markets in sub-Saharan Africa. There are a few African countries that will not have access to Showmax at launch but details will become available soon.
