The Real Housewives of Durban S4: Slee opens up
While the ladies are known for their glitzy and glamorous lives, they do show their vulnerable sides at times. On the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Durban Season 4, Slee went a little deeper and allowed viewers to see a part of her life that she’s never spoken about before.
The mother of two and businesswoman caught up with her older brother and she got a few things off her chest. “My brother is the only sibling from my father’s side that is based in Durban. It’s easier for me to reach out to him when I need some advice. ” she revealed on the show.
Daddy issues
During their conversation, Slee got candid about her “hectic” daddy issues. “With dad not being around. I’ve been going through therapy," she said.

She shared that she has abandonment issues. “So, whenever I’m with someone, be it a relationship or whenever I have anything that is remotely beautiful and exciting, I feel like I’m going to lose it or I’m going to lose that person.” Slee also mentioned that she sometimes sabotages herself by planting seeds of a breakup.
“I’m working through my issues but still, it’s a conversation that I need to have with dad.” Her brother assured her that she’s on the right path as she’s now at a point where she recognises what the problem is and is working on it. He told her that he also had the same issues for a long time but didn’t know what the root was. When Slee asked when last he spoke to their father, he revealed that it was recent. That didn’t sit well with her.
Feeling unwanted

“It breaks my heart that amongst my siblings, I mean he speaks to some of my siblings and some he doesn’t,” she said. An emotional Slee told her brother that she’s heartbroken because she doesn’t have a mother. “He’s the only parent that I have, and I spoke to my sister the other day from Joburg. She tells me all the time that she’s talking to dad. And for you to say you were talking to him three days ago, I don’t get to talk to dad. He doesn’t call me. It makes me wonder, why me?” Her dad’s actions towards her prove her theory of being unwanted.
Slee broke down and cried, adding: “I loved my dad, so much. No one could tell me anything negative about my father.” She said she used to wait for him when he’d call and say he’s coming to see her. “And he wouldn’t show up.” Her wish is to speak to him and find out how he’s doing, and she’d like him to act like he cares.
