What your BBNaija S10 housemates are watching on Showmax

BBNaija Season 10 is serving premium drama, addictive spice, and everything in-between. Before stepping into Biggie’s House, the Housemates revealed the shows they enjoy watching on Showmax. From the award-winning sci-fi adventure Dune to the long-running Nigerian soap opera Tinsel, their watchlists are as fun and fiery as they are. 

Here’s a glimpse of what the Housemates are watching on Showmax. 

Bad Boys 

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are the chaotic, witty detectives you call when subtlety is off the table. Bad Boys is all fast cars, flying bullets, and buddy-cop banter, much like Kuture and Rooboy, who picked the show as one of their favourites. 

It’s the perfect dose of action-packed nostalgia, with enough slow-mo swagger to keep you glued to your screen. 

Love Island USA 

Before the iconic Season 6, many had written off Love Island USA. But with a comeback complete with actual chemistry, viral moments of heartbreak and love, meme-worthy drama, and an equally successful spinoff (Love Island: Beyond The Villa), the show has become a must-watch for every reality TV enthusiast. 

No wonder it made Kola, Dede and Koyin’s list – they are really that group serving us Love Island-worthy drama with their interactions and triangles.  

Bel-Air Seasons 1 - 3 

Making Faith and Ibifubara’s list is Bel-Air. The show takes the nostalgia of The Fresh Prince and flips it into a grounded drama that tackles racial tension, culture shock, and the complexities of the Black elite. Led by Jabari Banks, the series delivers heat, heart, and high fashion, reimagining a classic through a sharper, more emotional lens. 

With the fourth and final season on the horizon, now’s the perfect time to catch up on Will’s journey.  

Game of Thrones 

Game of Thrones is a high-stakes fantasy series where noble houses claw for the Iron Throne while the icy White Walkers creep in from the North. It’s messy, with lots of betrayal and political chaos. All eight seasons are available for streaming on Showmax.  

It’s no surprise it made Joanna and Victory’s list – they’re the House’s master strategists, forming alliances and playing the long game like true Westerosi contenders. 

Tinsel 

Tinsel weaves a story of drama, romance, betrayal, and triumph, all set against the glamorous yet cutthroat world of Nigeria’s film industry. Featuring standout performances from Nollywood veterans like Ireti Doyle, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, the late Victor Olaotan, and Nollywood stars like Gideon Okeke and Linda Ejiofor, it’s no surprise the series has become one of Nigeria’s longest-running and most iconic television dramas. 

It’s premium TV at its finest – and clearly why it made KayiKunmi, Gigi Jasmine, Zita, Otega, Jasmine, and Mide’s lists. 

My Flatmates 

Comedy is king for Doris, Big Soso and Kaybobo, who love My Flatmates. The show centred around four friends navigating adulting, relationships, and rent money in Lagos leans into the hilarity of real-life roommate situations.  

Featuring comic heavyweights like Basketmouth, Okey Bakassi, and Buchi, it's equal parts witty and ridiculous.  

Princess on a Hill (POAH) 

In Nigerian drama, but the kind that does corporate Nigerian drama right, Princess on a Hill stands tall. The Showmax Original centres on Zara Osara (Onyinye Odokoro), an underdog who is thrust into the most powerful boardroom in the country. Tasked with sabotaging the very company that gave her fame, Zara must navigate ruthless corporate politics and stand her ground against the merciless CEO, Moyosore Lawson (Bimbo Manuel). 

The stakes are high, betrayals brutal, and actors outstanding. Tracy and Mide definitely have good taste in TV. 

Dune  

Joanna, Sultana, and Bright Morgan like good sci-fi, and that’s why Dune made it to their list. Dune isn’t just sci-fi; it’s a show that explores the concepts of power, destiny, and survival set against the unforgiving desert planet of Arrakis. At its core is Paul Atreides, a young noble thrust into a deadly political game over the galaxy’s most precious resource: spice. 

The Denis Villeneuve-directed film features outstanding performances from its star-studded cast, including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, and more. 

Mission Impossible  

The entire franchise made it onto Imisi, Jason Jae, Thelma, ex-Housemate Danboskid, and Mensan’s list, and we’ve seen them channel Tom Cruise’s energy during the arena games.  
 
Mission Impossible throws you headfirst into a world where Tom Cruise pulls off jaw-dropping stunts and high-stake ops that defy logic. Each installation in the franchise is a masterclass in adrenaline-fuelled espionage, where every mission feels like a race against time and failure is simply not an option.  

Insecure

Sabrina loves a good storytelling session, which simply tells us Insecure is a perfect fit for her watchlist.  

The series follows Issa’s journey through awkwardly hilarious moments and painfully relatable Black girl realness. Alongside Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, and Natasha Rothwell, the series unpacks love, career, and friendship in LA with razor-sharp writing and a soundtrack collection so good it has us Shazam-ing every episode.  

It’s the kind of show that makes you laugh and cringe all at the same time.
