Wura episode 81 – 84 recap: “I don’t have a good feeling about this”

“I didn’t mean to scare you,” Fola Duduyemi says as he cleans Wura Adeleke’s leg.

Wura had dropped the bottle of wine she brought home when her husband, Tony, introduced her to Fola, who he had been gisting with. She looked like she saw a ghost, but maybe that’s what Fola is: a spectre from her past.

Wura’s shock is double-fold. First, Fola is outside and back in Iperindo; secondly, he has managed to enter her household within a few days of his release. She’s agitated and Tony’s good mood, which he credits Fola for, is unsettling her even further.

“He’s just been here for two minutes and suddenly, you guys are best friends,” she scolds Tony, before inquiring about their former Gardner, Shedrack, and how Tony met Fola. His reply doesn’t inspire any confidence.

“I don’t have a good feeling about this,” she insists. “We are high-profile people; we can’t just open our door for anybody to walk in just like that.”

Tony isn’t listening; Fola’s presence has enchanted him.

Meanwhile, things are heating up at Paulina’s bar over Dimeji’s prolonged and unjust detention. Paulina, Ewa, Kazeem and Mide argue over the issue, with Paulina vowing to go above and beyond, even emptying her savings, to secure her brother’s freedom.

Mide persists in his negativity and discouragement, but Paulina finds support in Ewa and Kazeem.

Free Dimeji

As the people of Iperindo rally together to devise a plan to secure Dimeji’s release, Paulina visits Bisola to confront her about the situation. However, Bisola is insisting Dimeji is the father of her kid.

“Why didn’t your family come to meet mine when he impregnated you,” she asks.

Bisola retorts with words of her own, leading Paulina to shove her. Just as the situation threatens to spiral out of control, Jeje steps in and orders Paulina out of the mine. Bisola expresses her concerns to Jeje, stating she is weary of maintaining their web of lies and deceit. Jeje assures her everything is going according to plan and that they have Dimeji exactly where they want him. He has been visiting Dimeji in prison, bringing him food and acting benevolently, but it is all a ploy to gain Dimeji’s trust.

Later in the day, Tumi, accompanied by Paulina and Ewa, visit the police station and takes a determined stance not to leave until Dimeji is freed. Tumi even goes as far as sleeping there while Paulina mobilizes the youth of Iperindo on a #FreeDimeji protest.

Wura’s Fola Problem

“You think you’re working with men until you find out that you’re working with children who can barely clean up after themselves,”

Wura vents her irritation towards her accomplices, Jeje and Detective Kolapo. She is deeply worried about Fola’s presence and how effortlessly he manages to win over the affection of everyone in the house, from Labake to Tony.

She holds the detective accountable as he was incredibly naïve to believe Fola would just disappear after everything they did to him. The detective’s weak attempt at defending himself only intensifies her insults.

“The mistake I made was trusting you. I should have ripped that oxygen mask off your daughter when I had the chance,” she angrily expresses frustration.

Jeje is taken aback by the mention of an innocent child and attempts to caution his Aunty, but as usual, he is met with humiliating remarks for his trouble.

Wura is determined to find a solution to her Fola problem. She proposes buying him off, but Jeje warns he may continue to return, just like Femi did. In desperation, she suggests they murder him.
