016FM Season 1 episode 13 recap: Showdown
In the thrilling final episode of 016FM, the Kwaal is in full swing, but the stakes couldn’t be higher with Pius still holding Mosoeu and TK hostage. Can the 016FM team pull off an incredible event and rescue their loved ones? Here’s how it all goes down.
The Kwaal heats up
The Kwaal is buzzing, with crowds dancing and cheering as Latoya kicks off a high-energy dance competition. From a distance, Whiskey and Tsietsi watch their hard work come together, but they can’t celebrate just yet – they’ve got a rescue mission to complete!
A shocking discovery
Whiskey and Tsietsi rush to the studio to rescue Keith, only to find the place ransacked. The expensive studio equipment is gone, and worst of all, Keith is still missing.
Connecting the dots
Tsietsi realises that Pius has been using the station to send coordinates to his goons, helping them navigate safe routes for smuggling stolen metals out of the area.
The crowd goes wild
Back at the Kwaal, Masedi ZA takes the stage, driving the crowd wild. Queen is under the watchful eye of Keith’s stalker, Babaloki. With everyone at 016FM being closely monitored, Tsietsi tasks Babaloki with delivering a message to the police chief.
Pius takes the stage
Latoya calls Pius to the stage as the main sponsor. Ever the showman, he gives a speech about investing in local talent, all while oblivious to the plan unfolding around him.
A second chance
Tsietsi and Karabo share a heartfelt moment as she prepares for her set. He gives her a pep talk and asks for a second chance, charming her once again.
The police move in
It’s time for action! Armed with the new coordinates provided by Tsietsi and Whiskey, the police gear up to intercept the trucks carrying stolen metals. The trap is set, and the cops know exactly where to strike.
Pius’s downfall
Pius is furious when he realises he’s been betrayed. As he monologues about his plans to kill TK, the Prof, Tsietsi, and Whiskey, he has no idea that Whiskey slipped a microphone into his pocket. His threats are broadcast live to everyone at the Kwaal and listening on 016FM! A scuffle breaks out, but the police arrive just in time to arrest Pius.
And the winner is…
With the chaos over, it’s time to announce the winner of the Kwaal. The votes are in, and Latoya reveals the winner – it’s Tsietsi!
Sealed with a kiss
As Tsietsi celebrates his victory, Karabo walks up and kisses him passionately in front of the whole crowd. It’s a perfect ending for Tsietsi, but things aren’t as rosy for Whiskey and Latoya. Latoya is leaving 016FM for a position at Channel O, and even though Keith is saved, he’s not out of the woods yet – Babaloki is still stalking him!
That’s a wrap on 016FM and what a ride it’s been. Stream all episodes on Showmax and experience the drama, the twists, and the unforgettable finale!
Editor’s note: We are deeply saddened by the passing of seasoned actor Sello Motloung, who brought life to the character of Prof Mosoeu on 016FM. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
