"I feel like I'm underrated" - Risper Faith on joining Nai-Rich
Risper Faith wants you to see her for who she really is, flaws, glam, drama, love and everything in between. The Nai-Rich star who has previously appeared on Nairobi Diaries, another reality series, wants to show viewers her most authentic self in the reality series that airs every Friday.
“So many people out here are faking lives and sugarcoating everything. If I’ve had beans and black tea for breakfast, there’s no need of logging into Pinterest to download croissant pictures and share that as my breakfast. I want to show viewers that even celebrities who have made it are just regular people with real problems and real lives,” Risper says.

In the interview below, Risper shares more about why she wanted to join Nai-Rich, and her experience filming the new Showmax Original reality series.
Why did you want to join Nai-Rich?
I wanted to join Nai-Rich because I feel like I’m underrated. I have so much talent and so much to give to the world that viewers will love. Joining the show will help me get to where I want to be as an artist.
How does it feel to be part of the show?
You know, I’ve done this before with Nairobi Diaries but Nai-Rich is so much bigger and better. We’ve grown over the years so this is a very exciting experience for me, and this is the right thing for me where I am now.
How did your husband react to you joining Nai-Rich and are we going to see him on the show?
He’s been my number one fan from day one so he’s always happy for me and supports what I do as long as it’s not the wrong thing. So yes, he was so excited for me. Viewers will see a glimpse of him here and there. He’s a busy man, he loves travelling a lot but he’s going to be there to support me, regardless.
Who would you choose as your favourite co-star?
My favourite has to be Phoina because she’s a friend. She was even my make-up artist for my wedding in 2018 so we have a relationship from way back.
I watched a few episodes of Nai-Rich and you really tell it like it is. You don’t believe in sugarcoating anything. Tell us about that?
In the past, when I was trying to chase fame and build up my brand, I got caught up in so much fakeness and lies along the way. But when I decided to turn my life around, my blessings started flowing, everything good in life came to me so yes, I don’t believe in sugarcoating anything.
Let’s talk about your body transformation that had Kenyans talking for weeks. How does it feel six months down the line?
This has been a life-changing experience for me. You know, being a mother and a wife sometimes transforms your body so I gained a lot of weight and my self-esteem was very low. Right now, I feel so good about myself and I feel so confident. And it’s also good for my health, I sleep well, I’m happy and overall, I look so good.
What do you currently do to maintain your stunning figure?
I do a lot of exercising. I signed up for gym membership at both Westgate and Sarit Centre so I do live in the gym. I train, I drink my water and try to eat healthy, so a lot of vegetables, fruits and I also take my supplements very seriously because I don’t want to go back to where I was one year ago.
How do you handle the pressure and scrutiny that comes with being in the public eye?
I think I’ve been in the public eye for over 10 years now, and along the way, I’ve learnt to grow a thick skin. That’s all it takes for you to handle everything and deal with the pressure. Also, I always keep away from any gossip about me, I don’t check the blogs, I don’t read the comments, and the people around me know this as well, not to share any gossip stories with me.
