016FM Season 1 episode 9 recap: Divided we fall
This week on 016FM, tensions in the Vaal escalate between Sebokeng and Sharpeville, Tsietsi narrowly escapes a dangerous situation, and Whiskey makes a surprising offer to Karabo. Here’s the recap.
Latoya worries about the Kwaal
With just five days until the Kwaal, Tsietsi and Whiskey prepare to go head-to-head in the ultimate radio showdown. Tsietsi, unable to sleep, is at the station early, stressing over the event he’s been organising solo, without any help from Whiskey. Latoya expresses her concerns about the Kwaal’s success, but Tsietsi reassures her that everything will be fine.
Karabo gets friend-zoned
Karabo is blindsided by a note from Tsietsi apologising for their steamy moment the night before. She’s been friend-zoned, and Tsietsi didn’t even have the guts to tell her in person. Sensing an opportunity, Whiskey swoops in and offers her a slot on his Kwaal line-up to play her own set, but Karabo hesitates, unsure of what to do.
Whiskey confronts TK
Whiskey corners TK about his recent school troubles. TK has been failing, and Whiskey is worried about his involvement with Pius and his gang. Just as TK starts to open up, Whiskey takes a call. Fed up with always being second to Whiskey’s priorities, TK storms off.
Things heat up between Sebokeng and Sharpeville
Tsietsi finds himself running for his life in Sebokeng when locals turn on him. After his narrow escape, Tsietsi goes on air, calling for peace between Sebokeng and Sharpeville, trying to unite the divided communities. Meanwhile, Keith, feeling unsafe and stalked, suggests cancelling the Kwaal. But Whiskey, ignoring Tsietsi’s pleas for peace, declares, “If they want a war, they’ll get it.”
Charity and the Prof grow closer
The Prof confides in Charity about his strained relationship with Tsietsi. Charity offers him some comforting words and a shoulder to lean on. Could this be the beginning of a close friendship – or something more?
Violence comes to the studio
The tension between Whiskey and Tsietsi reaches a boiling point. Tsietsi accuses Whiskey of using his platform to incite a turf war, leading to a heated argument. The confrontation quickly turns physical, with Whiskey pinning Tsietsi to the ground before Karabo steps in to break up the fight.
With the conflict spilling over from the streets into the studio, where will it all end? Stay tuned for more drama as tensions continue to rise in the Vaal. New episodes of 016FM land every Wednesday, only on Showmax!
