Terms & Conditions

1.     The Offer

Subscribe for one month of Showmax Entertainment All Devices or Showmax Entertainment Mobile and get one more month of subscription of the same Showmax subscription plan at no cost (“Offer”). This Offer is provided by Showmax SA (Pty) Ltd (“Showmax”). The terms and conditions set forth below (“Offer Terms”) shall apply when you accept and redeem the Offer.

2.     Eligibility

To Participate in the Offer, you must:

2.1         reside in South Africa;

2.2         have a Showmax account with an expired subscription plan of Showmax Entertainment All Devices or Showmax Entertainment Mobile;

2.3         accept Showmax’s invitation to take up the Offer, as detailed below:

2.3.1  the invitation by Showmax will be made via email, SMS, push notification and/or phone call;

2.3.2  you are then required to pay the applicable amount upfront using one of the available payment methods between 00:00 hours 17 July and 23:59 hours 31 July 2025 (“Offer Period”).

2.4      You are not eligible for the Offer if:
2.4.1    you receive or have received in the past access to Showmax through Capitec vouchers,
2.4.2    you receive access to Showmax as part of your DStv Premium subscription,
2.4.3    you subscribe to Showmax via a third-party partner (add-to-bill package);
2.4.4    you are subscribed to any of the bundled Showmax plans that are available on the Showmax website.

3.     Offer terms and conditions

3.1          This Offer is subject to successful processing of your payment and confirmation of your eligibility by Showmax.

3.2          It is your responsibility to ensure that payment of the applicable amount is received by Showmax in a timely manner. Without limitation, Showmax is not responsible for any difficulties encountered with third party merchants nor for any costs that you may incur to participate in this Offer.

3.3          Eligible customers will automatically be upgraded to enjoy the additional plan. Subject to system dependencies, the plan upgrade may be effected within 72 hours of receipt of payment by Showmax. If the upgrade is not effected, Showmax will endeavour to effect the upgrade within the shortest possible time following a notification by you. The subscription period of the added subscription plan will start to run from the date when the upgrade was effected by Showmax.

3.4          This is a limited Offer and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. The Offer may end earlier if the limit is reached.

4.     General provisions

4.4  These Offer Terms and conditions must be read together with the Showmax Terms and Conditions and the Showmax Privacy Policy.

4.5          Your participation in the Offer constitutes your binding acceptance of the Offer Terms.

4.6          Showmax reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to determine your eligibility for the Offer.

4.7          The Offer is not open to:

4.7.1           directors, members, partners, agents, employees or consultants of the MultiChoice Group of companies; and

4.7.2           the spouse, life partner, business partner or associate, or the natural or adopted parent, child or sibling of any of the persons specified in paragraph 4.7.1 above.

4.8          The Offer is not transferable and may not be deferred, changed or exchanged for cash or any other item.

4.9          Save as stated herein, Showmax does not make any representations or give any warranties, whether expressly or implicitly, as to the Offer.

4.10       Showmax will not be responsible and disclaim all liability for any loss, liability, injury, expense or damage (whether direct, indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential) of any nature, whether arising from negligence or any other cause, which is suffered by your participation in the Offer. If any liability is imputed to us, such liability will be limited to the value of your subscription.

4.11       You, and in the event of your death, your family, dependents, heirs, assignees or any other beneficiaries of your estate, indemnify and hold us harmless against any claim by you, (whether direct, indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential) of any nature, whether arising from negligence or any other cause, relating to any injury, loss, liability, expense and/or damage which you may suffer, howsoever arising, in relation to your participation in this Offer.

4.12       Showmax shall not be liable for any failure to comply with our obligations where the failure is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

4.13       Showmax may cede, assign or novate any or all of our rights and/or any or all of our obligations set out herein to any person or entity without notice to you.

4.14       If you fail to comply with any of these Offer Terms, then without prejudice to any other remedy which Showmax may have, you will be automatically disqualified, and you will forfeit the Offer.

4.15       Showmax’s failure to enforce any of the rights or provisions of the Offer or these Offer Terms will not be deemed to be a waiver of such right or provision.

4.16       These Offer Terms will be construed, interpreted and enforced in accordance with the laws of South Africa.
