Elders: Frankryk
Season 6 of kykNET’s SAFTA-winning lifestyle and travel programme Elders followed host Erns Grundling and the team to France ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup to give us a taste of the host country – which will also be welcoming the Olympic Games in 2024.
Join Erns as he explores some of France’s most beautiful destinations, starting out in the country’s oldest city, Marseille, walking Le Chemin de Nietzsche and partially following the tracks of the French Huguenots, before taking on the Via Podiensis Camino route to conclude his journey in the famous town of Saint-Jean-Pied-du-Port, near the Pyrenees. Along the way, we’ll get to take in some of France’s most breathtaking landscapes and indulge in the rich culture of the region. And of course, there’s all that delicious French food and drink to discover.
Erns also stops in to visit a number of South Africans living in France, including chef and TV presenter Erik le Roux in Nantes and beloved author Marita van der Vyver in the fairytale town of Sarlat-la-Canéda.
