Empini Season 1, episodes 37-38 recap: We could be allies
In Empini this week, Zenzele uncovers a shocking truth about his father while Ndoni faces professional and personal challenges. The stakes are higher than ever as Zenzele prepares to use the explosive information he’s discovered against the General. Here’s what went down.
Zenzele’s growing distrust

Thobani hits a dead end in his investigation into the restaurant shooting, but Zenzele’s suspicions grow. Dora tries to convince him that the General isn’t behind the attempt on his life, leaving Zenze uncertain about who to trust.
Khaya’s guidance

Zenzele calls Khaya, expressing doubts about the General’s involvement in the attack. Khaya advises Zenze to trust his gut and emphasises the importance of making alliances by offering valuable information. He directs Zenze to a woman in Wattville, Mam’Rebecca, who holds crucial secrets.
A dark discovery

Zenzele finds Mam’Rebecca and retrieves a secret package she’s been safeguarding for years. Inside, he discovers photos of horrific crimes committed by the General. Zenze is horrified by the gruesome evidence, especially when he realises his father was aware of these atrocities.
Ndoni’s close call

Ndoni narrowly prevents an attempted abduction of her young client, Amahle, by firing at the assailants. Although Amahle is unharmed, the incident leads Amahle’s mother to fire MPS, dealing a blow to Ndoni’s professional standing.
Internal conflict at MPS

The situation escalates when Ndoni accuses a fellow MPS bodyguard, Dingane, of sabotaging her and putting her client at risk. Thobani intervenes, breaking up the confrontation and demanding that Ndoni hand over her weapon.
Zenzele’s bold move

Zenzele visits Enoch, offering him the incriminating photos of the General in exchange for reinstating the government contract with MPS. Zenze hints that these photos are exactly what Enoch has been waiting for to finally take down the General, once and for all.
Will his gamble pay off? Stay tuned to Showmax for more Empini, with new episodes dropping every Thursday!
