How to activate your virtual M-Pesa card to pay for Showmax

There are two ways to activate your virtual M-Pesa card: through the M-Pesa GlobalPay service on the M-Pesa app, and by using a USSD code. Once you have activated your card, you can set up repeat payments to Showmax so that you can stay connected without any interruptions.

Activate your virtual M-Pesa card through the M-Pesa app

• Log in to your M-PESA app
• Select the Grow tab
• Select the GlobalPay tab to activate your M-Pesa GlobalPay
• Select your card colour
• Enter your M-Pesa PIN
• You will receive an SMS with the card number and expir

Activate your virtual M-Pesa card using a USSD code

• Dial *334#
• Select Lipa na M-Pesa
• Select M-Pesa GlobalPay
• Accept terms and conditions
• Enter your M-Pesa PIN
• You will receive a 16-digit number in a flash SMS. This is your M-Pesa GlobalPay Visa credential
• You will also receive the validity period of the card in a separate flash SMS

How to set up repeat payments on your virtual M-Pesa card

Using the M-Pesa app

• Log in to your M-Pesa app
• From the Grow Tab select M-PESA GlobalPay
• Select Enable Repeat Payments (just beneath your GlobalPay card)
• Select Enable
• Enter your M-Pesa PIN
• You will receive a notification confirming successful enablement of Repeat Payments

Using the USSD code

• Dial *334#
• Select Lipa na M-Pesa
• Select M-Pesa GlobalPay
• Select Repeat Payments
• Accept terms and conditions
• Enter your M-Pesa PIN
• You will receive an SMS notification with a confirmation on enabling recurring payments

How to pay for Showmax using your M-Pesa virtual card

• Log in/sign up for showmax
• Select your desired package
• Select credit/debit card under monthly recurring billing
• Enter your M-Pesa GlobalPay card details
• Enter the OTP
• Start watching
