How to use the QVWi stick to watch Showmax on your TV
The prices of TVs have been coming down steadily, but not everyone can afford to upgrade to a new one when technology moves on. That’s where devices like streaming sticks come in. They’re much cheaper than buying a new TV, and once you plug them into your TV, you get the same kind of features as many higher-end smart TVs.
Streaming platform Showmax recently announced a partnership with local manufacturer QVWi on the Leap S2 stick, with two months of free Showmax available on purchase. As long as your current TV has a USB port and an HDMI cable, you’ll be able to use it to stream content.
How to use a streaming stick with your TV
- Check that your TV has an HDMI and USB port.
- Plug in your QVWi streaming stick.
- You’ll be prompted to login with your Google details, then go to the Showmax app.
- Log in with your Showmax username and password.
- Start streaming.
Showmax has emerged as one of the most popular streaming services in Africa, serving content like House of the Dragon, The Regime and Bookie, plus international hits like The Curse, All American: Homecoming and Killing It. Showmax Original productions like Adulting, Youngins and Tracking Thabo Bester have set Twitter on fire, while their Premier League subscription is a must for football season.
