Tamia, chairwoman of football club Royal AM, was thrust into the limelight after she married Andile. Since she first came onto the scene, many people have been curious about her, making assumptions about who she is, what she likes and what drives her. The media-shy businesswoman has kept her personal life to herself until now, but she opens up below about how she’s feeling about introducing herself to the world in the second season of Kwa Mam’Mkhize.
How do you feel about joining Kwa Mam’Mkhize?
I am very excited about joining the show with my family, it is something I have not done before, so naturally, I am nervous about the journey and everything it will come with. But with the support of my husband and family, it has been seamless.
What were some of the challenges of filming the show?
Filming is no joke. During filming, you need to be very disciplined. You have to be there on time and leave when you are done. When I first started, I just thought it was going to be a walk in the park but, yoh, it is a lot of work. When you get up, there are people with cameras in your face and there is nothing you can do because that is what you signed up for.
What are you going to bring to the show?
I am going to bring a lot. You will see me in all my roles as a wife, mother, chairwoman and daughter. On social media, people often say that I do not speak because I am usually reserved, so they should watch the show and see me speak. People will see the real me in my element.
How has becoming a mother impacted you?
Being a mother has changed me in so many ways. I have always been a nurturer but, after having kids, that part of me blossomed even more. I have become so protective. I am honestly loving the journey. When you have kids, something in you changes and you can never be the same again.
Will we see your children on the show?
Yes, you are going to see my children on the show but it is going to be in a very controlled environment, because people can be so cruel. Like I said, I am a very protective mom and my kids’ well-being is the most important thing to me.
Why should people watch the show?
People should watch to see how we get along as a family. We love each other and we go through things like any other family. There are ups and downs. More than anything, we are humans and we are all just figuring life out. Just because we are in the limelight, it does not mean we are different from any other family.
Kwa Mam’Mkhize is the fourth Showmax reality show from POP24, building on the success of Bae Beyond Borders, which is currently streaming, This Body Works For Me and the record-breaking hit The Mommy Club.
