Latest news:

Manchester City’s Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne is spending his final season at the club and plans to sign with a new team during the summer transfer window. For this reason, he is not interested in participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in an updated format.
This prestigious tournament will take place from June 15 to July 13 across stadiums in the United States, featuring the strongest European clubs. However, the 33-year-old veteran midfielder has stated that he intends to skip the tournament to focus on securing his future. According to renowned journalist Jeremy Cross, De Bruyne is afraid of picking up an injury during the Club World Cup, which could complicate his potential transfer.
Currently, Kevin De Bruyne’s contract with City is nearing its end, and the Premier League match against Fulham on May 25 might be his last appearance for the Manchester side. This increases speculation that the game could serve as a farewell match for a player who has spent many years at the club.
In a conversation with journalists, De Bruyne clarified that no final decision has been made yet regarding the tournament.
“I can’t say anything definite right now because we haven’t had a final discussion with the club. If the management wants to talk to me about participating, I’m ready — but I don’t see it happening that way,” said the Belgian star.
During his time at Manchester City, De Bruyne has become one of the team’s most important players. His on-field brilliance led to numerous trophies. He has won the Premier League and domestic cups multiple times and is regarded as one of Europe’s finest players.
Even this season, he remains a key contributor. However, his departure could lead to major changes within the squad and pose challenges for Pep Guardiola during the summer transfer window.
Manchester City fans are currently worried about his potential departure and hope the game against Fulham won’t be his last with the club.
In any case, De Bruyne’s decision is expected to become a hot topic for discussion among fans and football pundits in the near future.

Man City XI

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola made a stunning start to life at City when he joined in 2016, winning his first 11 games in charge and was twice nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award in August and September 2016.

In his second season he guided the Blues to the Premier League title and the Carabao Cup, smashing records along the way in a stunning season.

He picked up four successive Manager of the Month awards and was voted the Premier League Manager of the Season and the LMA Manager of the Year.

He was again voted Premier League manager of the year after guiding City to four more trophies in 2018/19 to become the Club’s most successful boss ever with six trophies in three seasons. City added the Carabao Cup and Community Shield to Pep’s list in 2019/20, but the Catalan won yet more silverware in 2020/21, with another Premier League title and Carabao Cup success.

He also became the first City boss to take his side to a Champions League final in May 2021, taking his trophy haul to 10.

His incredible spell at the Etihad saw him claim a fourth Premier League title in five years in 2021/22 as well as reaching the Champions League semi-final.

The Catalan then signed a new two-year contract extension with the Club in November of 2022, a deal that will take him through to the summer of 2025. He reached another impressive milestone in April 2023, claiming a 100th home Premier League win in record time when City beat Liverpool 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

City’s winning form has continued for the remainder of the season under Guardiola’s leadership, helping City lift our third consecutive Premier League title with three games remaining of the 2022/23 campaign.
And to top off another history-defining season under Pep’s tenure, an FA Cup final win over Manchester United followed by a Champions League final win over Inter saw City named Treble winners.

The manager continues to take City to new heights as he led the Club to their first-ever Super Cup victory in our debut appearance in the European showpiece. Pep also won his fourth FIFA Club World Cup in December 2023 as City beat Fluminense 4-0 in Jeddah.

And last season Pep led his City team to yet another Premier League title, making history as the only Premier League club to win four Premier League titles in a row
