Matlock S1

Matlock stars Emmy and Oscar winner Kathy Bates as Madeline "Matty" Matlock, a retired septuagenarian lawyer who rejoins the workforce at a prestigious law firm. Bates won the 2025 Critics Choice Best Actress: Drama Series award for the role.

The reboot was named Rotten Tomatoes’ fourth best-reviewed drama series of 2024 by Rotten Tomatoes, with a rare 100% critics’ rating, and was the seventh most-watched series of the year, according to Nielsen.

At the Critics Choice Awards, Skye P Marshall (from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Black Lightning) was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

Developed by Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder Urman, Matlock has already been renewed for a second season.
