Showmax Entertainment Payday Promotion Terms & Conditions

1. Description/Introduction

1.1 The Entertainment 50% Off Payday Promotion consists of two offerings available for eligible/qualifying customers to purchase:

• a 50% discount on Showmax General Entertainment all devices product, valid for 6 months on a recurring basis (6-month Payday Promo); or

• a 50% discount on Showmax General Entertainment mobile product, valid for 2 months on a one-time purchase basis (2-month Payday Promo).

1.2 All qualifying customers must purchase/redeem the offer GE 50% Off Payday Promotion between 25 June 2024 and 31 July 2024 (“Promotion Redemption Period”) to avail themselves of the promotion.

1.3 These Entertainment Payday Promotion terms (hereinafter referred to as “Terms”) are supplementary to the Showmax terms and conditions and apply to use of the Showmax Service by eligible/qualifying customers for the duration of the promotion period, extending from the date of promotion redemption to:

• 6 months later maximum until 28 February 2025 (for 6 Month Entertainment 50% Payday Promo); or

• 2 months maximum until 30 October 2024 (for 2 Month Entertainment 50% Payday Promo). (the “Promotion Period”).

1.4 Please read these Terms carefully.

2. General Information

2.1 “Showmax Service” means the service offered by Showmax which is the trade name and trademark proprietary to Showmax SA (Proprietary) Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Showmax”) if you are a customer that is resident in South Africa.

2.2 The Showmax Service may be accessed through an application or a website and, which allows the subscriber to access Live TV, Video On Demand (VOD) film, series and kids content on their Devices.

2.3 Showmax subscribers can stream or temporarily download television shows, movies, video or audio clips and other audio-visual materials (‘Content’) by using an electronic device which is capable of connecting to the Internet, including but not limited to computers, mobile phones, tablets, media players, smart TVs, decoders, set-top boxes, gaming consoles, media adaptors, and other similar devices, which devices comply with the technical requirements to access the Content as set out on the Showmax Website (‘Access Device’).

2.4 In order for Showmax customers to access and receive the Showmax Service using certain Access Devices, Showmax has developed or made available the Showmax software application (‘Showmax App’). Access Device, Showmax Device and Showmax App constitute a Showmax Platform.

2.5 You can access and receive the Showmax Service through the showmax.com website and any other platforms that Showmax may make available for receiving the Showmax Service.

2.6 Showmax will send a link with a promotion access code to the eligible customer to enter on the Showmax Platform to activate and register the relevant purchased promotion.

2.7 Only one promotion access code will be made available per customer in each Territory.

2.8 Upon purchase, the 50% discount will be applied to the customer’s Showmax Service account in the following month’s bill, for a period of up to 6 months or 2 months depending on the offer purchased (as outlined in clause 1.1 above). It is important to note that the 50% discount will be applied to the relevant Showmax service pricing, as amended from time to time.

2.9 Showmax reserves the right at any time and for any reason to terminate the Entertainemtn 50% Off Promotion.

3. Entertainment 50% Off Payday Eligibility

3.1 The Entertainment 50% Off Payday Promotion is only applicable and valid in the Republic of South Africa (the “Territory”).

3.2 To qualify for the Entertainment 50% Off Payday Promotion, customers must meet the following criteria:

• customers must have previously subscribed to Showmax Entertainment and have been inactive for a timeframe ranging between 90 days to 24 months. They have been selected by Showmax and have received correspondence (via email and/or SMS and/or a phone call from the call centre) from Showmax offering them the promotion. It must be noted that the offer is non transferrable, it is only redeemable by the original customer.

• With respect to the 6 Month Entertainment 50% Off Payday Promo, the Showmax selected customers are required to save/add and use a recurring a payment instrument on their Showmax Service account within the Promotion Period on a recurring billing basis; and pay for the Showmax Service in accordance with these Terms.

• Eligible customers are required to be resident and take-up the offer in the Territory.

4. Promotion Customer Ineligibility

Customers who did not receive the offer directly from Showmax.

5. Pricing

The price discount calculation is rounded up to whole numbers, always to the benefit of a customer.

6. Privacy

Showmax will process your personal data for the purpose of offering you this Entertainment 50% Off Payday Promotion by e-mail and/or by SMS, and your subscription to the Showmax Service as more fully described in the Showmax Privacy Policy which you can find at https://stories.showmax.com/privacy-policy/. The Showmax Privacy Policy is updated from time to time, and it explains how we treat your personal information, who we share your information with, and measures taken to protect your privacy when you use our Showmax Service. If you do not wish to receive any promotional or marketing material from Showmax, you can change your marketing preferences in the settings toggle of your account in Showmax or by sending us your opt-out on help@showmax.com.

7. Miscellaneous

7.1 Showmax reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to determine whether you are eligible for the GE 50% Off Payday Promotion.

7.2 In case of a discrepancy between these Terms and the Showmax Terms & Conditions, the provisions of these Terms will prevail.

7.3 Showmax reserves the right at any time and for any reason to terminate the Entertainment 50% Off Payday Promotion.
