Wura episodes 33-36 recap: “Omolara, you’re having sex on my bed!”

In Wura episodes 33-36 this week, Iyabo tells Mide: “If you don’t get a job by the end of this month, I want you out of my house.” It might seem drastic, but Mide’s actions are unbecoming of a first son. He had used the money for the family business to drink with his friends. Iyabo is tired and is determined to send him out of the house.

At the Adeleke’s, the reverse is the case. Jeje is the frustrated one; he wants his mum, Omolara, to leave the house. He had gone as far as threatening to leave the house if Tony didn’t evict her.

As they head out, Omolara pulls a performance. She slips and cries for her drugs; Tony and Jeje oblige her. Wura sarcastically asks what is wrong, and she replies she has bone cancer. Everyone immediately becomes sympathetic. Jeje is crippled with guilt and begs her to stay. Wura is suspicious, which isn’t surprising: it takes a player to know another player.

The relationship dynamics between both mothers – Iyabo and Omolara – and their first sons control the narrative on this week’s Wura.

Mide wins everyone over

Iyabo’s words hurt Mide and gingered him to become more responsible. He goes to Paulina’s bar and begs to be a security guard, but she isn’t interested. She knows how unreliable he can be.

As Paulina walks away, Percy enters the frame. “Oka, my guy, just the man I was looking for,” he hails Mide before blessing him with a bundle of cash. He says it is for the drinks from yesterday. It is a thoughtful gesture, and Mide is grateful and close to tears. The next time we see him is full of smiles and bearing gifts.

“I promise you, I will take care of this family,” he tells his mum as he presents the goods for their business with extra gifts for her and his sisters. Iyabo is happy. Ebun is happy. Everyone is happy.

However, the money from Percy is neither free nor clean. It is from car-jacking, the same crime that landed him in prison and an old habit Mide is running from. Percy eventually convinces him to join, and after a job with handsome pay, Mide is entirely in. Old habits die hard.

Omolara’s lies catch up

Omolara informs Jeje she has six months to live, and he believes it. Wura accepts it hesitantly, but she worries that Omolara’s lies will hurt Jeje again. It is a very intriguing reaction from a woman who quickly insults him when he is not performing their diabolical plans optimally. But since her arrest, she has been noticeably affectionate with Jeje, telling him about her teenage pregnancy while in prison and now comforting him as he worries about his mother.

Meanwhile, Omolara is prepping to live her best life. She visits Paulina’s bar and her countenance isn’t that of a woman suffering from Stage 4 cancer. She has the energy of a young woman and is in a flirtatious mood.

“Where is your brother?” she asks Paulina of Dimeji.

“My brother is too young for you,” Paulina replies. Unlike the Adeleke’s, she is familiar with Omolara’s game.

But a lion will always find food in the jungle, and as Kazeem comes by the bar, she smells food. They get along quickly. Kazeem enjoys the attention; Omolara gets her young geezer.

Over at the Adeleke’s, they are planning a trip to Lagos. Omolara doesn’t join them because she is too tired and needs to rest. As they leave, she throws a party at their mansion. Their flight is cancelled, and they return home. If you watch movies a lot, you know how this goes.
