Crime and Justice Season 2, Episode 7: The Miracle
Crime and Justice Season 2, Episode 7, highlights Nairobi’s child trafficking syndicate.
Titled “Miracle”, detectives Makena (Sarah Hassan) and Silas (Alfred Munyua) investigate the murder of a nurse which leads them back to the hospital she works in.
The case takes a different turn when the detectives uncover a child trafficking syndicate involved in the theft and sale of newborns through organised crime networks that include a hospital which preys on vulnerable women and a pastor who claims to give women miracle babies.
As Makena and Silas go undercover to dig for more evidence, they soon realise that the trafficking ring extends far beyond the country’s borders and involves some people at the top.
Written by Voline Ogutu, who also wrote: “The Taxi Killer” (episode 2) and “Slaughterhouse” (episode 4), “Miracle” is directed by Edwin Kamau and stars Cajetan Boy (40 Sticks) as the fake pastor Masembo and Helen Keli (Selina) as his wife and Kariuki Thige (Saints) as Doctor Richard.
