The Afrikaans series centres around Tom Niemandt, who takes an unexpected trip to the Karoo, and meets an eclectic group of people who change his life forever.
Over the three seasons, new characters come and go, but the drama and heartwarming comedy never lets up.
Die Boekklub has won four SAFTAs, for Best Supporting Actress (Jana Cilliers, twice), Best Costume Design and Best Scriptwriting, with nominations for Best Directing and Best Supporting Actor (Chris van Niekerk).
