Diiche episode 1 recap: Who killed Nnamdi?
Who killed Nnamdi? That’s the looming question facing us in Diiche, the James Omokwe-produced Showmax Original psychological thriller created by Ifeanyi Barbara Chidi.
Nnamdi Nwokeji (Daniel K Daniel), a big Nollywood producer, is found dead at the venue of his own party. There we meet the inspectors, Kazeem (Frank Konwea from Riona) and Anene (Uzoamaka Aniunoh from Venge), who will find his killers.

Inspector Kazeem is unorthodox; he picks murder weapons up with his bare hands and doesn’t follow the rules. On the other hand, Inspector Anene is an astute professional, albeit with oversabi vibes. She has been sent from Abuja to help Kazeem unravel this murder, but he would prefer to go
it alone.
Top of the list of suspects is the eponymous Diiche Anyanwu, a famous actress and Nnamdi’s
fiancée. Inspector Kazeem breaks the news to her with an accusatory tone. Anene approaches her with empathy. They agree to interrogate her later after Diiche’s mum scolds them for their insensitivity.
Nnamdi’s mum believes her son was murdered by his fiancée. She never liked Diiche and mothers know these things. She moans about his bracelet, a family heirloom he always wore for protection. She wears it too – and it points to something significant.
When questioned, Diiche says she would never hurt Nnamdi because they were in love. But she wasn’t eager to say yes to his marriage proposal, and he seemed controlling. Also, it was their argument that shut down the party where he was killed. There was clearly trouble in paradise.
Did she kill him or is she a victim of coincidence? Find out in the second episode of Diiche, coming next Thursday.
