Flawsome episode 3 recap: “He said he would leave her for me”
Last week’s episode of Flawsome ended with a certain Eve clashing with Ramat and rudely insulting her before realising who she is.
Eve was raped by her boyfriend and came to Ramat for help. After overcoming the awkward introduction, she narrates her story then collapses and the episode ends.
We meet the boyfriend in this episode. Abel is a fresh boy with a British accent — a rich and famous music video director managed by Dolapo. A few minutes into his introduction, it is easy to see why Eve came to Ramat for help. He is a man who lives above society’s rules and has somehow managed to prevent Ramat and her friends from seeing Eve at the hospital they lodged her.
This episode centres on men doing bad things. Early in the episode, Dolapo figures out how Ranti could film her conversation with Senator Jubril’s wife. The senator is dating his wife’s assistant, Dora, and had promised he would divorce his wife for her.
“He said he was going to leave her,” she tells Dolapo, who replies they never leave their wives.
“He said he hated being married to her,” she continues.
“He said she was horrible in bed. He said I make him happy. You know I had abortions for him? Not one, not two. I had four abortions.”
But, of course, all men do is lie. When Dora realised she was being played, she unleashed her fury through Ranti. Dolapo points out that she fell in love with a married man, her boss’s husband, and that is on her. She pays Dora off, a handsome fee for her sorrow that comes with a warning to never mention the senator’s business outside again.
As Dora leaves, Dolapo catches Ramat’s husband meeting with his ex. It could be an innocent meeting, but the men of Flawsome do seemingly bad things. The only man who appears good is
the arrogant but honest Tersei. He cares for Ivie and says all the nice things she wants to hear. Like how her body fits nicely into a dress she adores but thinks she can’t rock.
Later, the girls meet for some girl time, but nothing goes well as Ramat and Dolapo fight over Abel and Eve’s rape accusation. Then Ivie lets out a scream and zooms off. Her jobless boyfriend has taken money from her account again! This time for a bloody massage and waxing. Yes, an episode of men doing bad things.
