Atomic Blonde (2017)

Charlize Theron stars in this ripper of an action flick set in Berlin on the eve of the collapse of the Berlin Wall. When a top-secret list of spies is stolen, top MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton is given the mission to retrieve it.

The plot is a densely woven mesh of spies and double agents, and the movie packs enough punch for even the most hardcore action fans. In this case, Charlize does everything a male action star would do – but backwards, and in killer heels.

Starring alongside her are James McAvoy as another MI6 agent, and John Goodman as a senior CIA agent. Sofia Boutella is Delphine Lasalle, a rookie French agent who is rather intriguing to Lorraine.

The movie is based on the graphic novel The Coldest City by Antony Johnston, and scored 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, which complimented its “stylish action sequences — and ever-magnetic star”.
