Enakhe fans tell us what they think of Latifah as Iye Akugbe
Enakhe fans go hard! After every episode, we gather on Twitter to analyse the latest rollercoaster Xavier Ighorodje and his team has taken us on. From emotional scenes like when Cali realised Solo, who he killed, was his son to adrenaline pumper like the murder of Pa Oshodin by the brain-touching GM. We love all of it. Today, we will be talking about our Queen Latifah, the new Iye Akugbe in town, with some of the show’s biggest fans. They share their thoughts on her reign, how she’s coping and many more.
Ofure @OfureFilmrant
My posh native witch 😂😂😂😂. My favorite Iye Akugbe so far. She’s one of my favourite characters on Enakhe, and I love the transition from drinking green tea to Agbo (spiritual tea as Onome calls it 😂).
I love how she is in control. She is using wisdom as a tear-eye woman to ensure Ejiro doesn’t bully her. She should sha stop using her power to save Enakhe because that girl deserves a bullet in her hypocritical brain.
Wow, harsh!
Joyce @JoyceChom
Latifah finds her new powers and position quite interesting. She hasn’t mastered the art very well, but she’s trying to make her reign as the Iye Akugbe different by refusing to stay in the bush.
A progressive Iye
As for the eyebrows, there seems to be other Akugbe’s before Ejiro. Seeing the sekpe seller only means there are others, right? One of them might be a makeup artist – just joking o.
Nengi aka GM @TheNengers
My Queen Latifah wants to eat her cake and have it … with tea, of course. Lateefah is smart, so it’s no surprise she’s learning the trades of Iya Akugbe quickly, but the good life has my Queen in a chokehold! Tea doesn’t taste the same sitting in a shrine!
She, however, welcomes her new powers. She isn’t anti traditional spirituality like most Nigerian parents her age. And it’s certainly more for her to do than sitting around the house all day looking pretty. She’s trying, but this life, I’m afraid, is not for her. Because how can you spell LaTEAfah without tea?
Preach, General!
Berry @Berrilicous
Latifah is struggling, and she isn’t using her powers efficiently because she hasn’t mastered them. But she’s not willing to calm down and learn; she’s just up and about everywhere.
Shey Iye no go enjoy?
Dika @DikaOfama
Latifah is struggling because she’s this educated, posh woman who has never believed in the supernatural. Now that she is thrust into being an Iye Akugbe, unprepared, she finds it difficult to settle and patiently learn.
Xavier @xavierghorodje
She’s definitely in over her head. Now that she’s getting to understand this Ejiro-is-my-spirit-guide thing and what her powers are, someone (Paraga seller aka Well Wisher) just comes and rips the rug from underneath her feet. And she hears about ‘circle of Akugbe’s’. Wait! Plural? There’s more of you people?! 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯 🤯
