Famalam S3
British sketch comedy show Famalam started as a one-off special but turned into a full-blown series. If you’re in the know with bleak British humour, this is the show for you. And even if you’re not and want something to just tickle your funny bone, stream it.
The show follows a group of friends and family members who’re just trying to get through life as people of colour in Britain. It looks at the struggles they face… as well as the hilarious ways they often get past prejudice and get on with their lives with style and street-smart swagger.
Don’t for a second think that the comedy makes light of social issues. If anything, they highlight them and tackle them with tongue firmly in cheek. You may struggle if you’re not good with thick UK accents because just about every character has a proper grimey way of pronouncing words. Other than that, all we can say is strap in, hold on and prepare to laugh!
“The Famalam team aim to mix carefully crafted comedy with shareable snippets,” reviews Lanre Bakare from theguardian.com. “Think of it as a rap mixtape. You can watch it as a whole piece or you can just a la carte it.”
