kykNET mockumentary comedy G.I.L is set at the middle-of-nowhere Grobbies “International” Airport, where go-getter Barry Wiese lands the job of his dreams as the general manager of a less-than-stellar team.
G.I.L stars SAFTA-winning writer-director Bennie Fourie (Hotel) as Barry, Ashley de Lange (Kanarie) as Rietjie, Frank Opperman (Dominee Tienie, Ander Mens) as Kreef, SAFTA winner Vele Manenje (Ring of Lies) as Princess, Michele Burgers (Skemerson) as Letricia, Hendrik Cronje (7de Laan, Liewe Lisa) as Clive, Gershwin Mias (Noem My Skollie, Ellen: Die storie van Ellen Pakkies) as Prof, and Ruan Wessels (Ekstra Medium) as Tips.
Directed by Quentin Krog (Ballade vir ‘n Enkeling, Die Boekklub), G.I.L is executive produced by SAFTA nominee Wikus du Toit (Dominee Tienie, Barakat) and multi-award-winner Roberta Durrant (Krotoa, Projek Dina).
