Hearts start breaking in sexy reality show Temptation Island SA episode 5
We’re in the early stages of reality show Temptation Island South Africa, and the four core couples are still getting used to playing the field. Besides getting excited at the thought of flirting with several of the hot singles, the pairs are also in the process of getting to know their pool of singles on a deeper level.
But what happens when the singles start developing genuine feelings for members of the couples? Well, as episode 5 proves, there’s a mixture of emotions from both villas. For some of the singles, letting their guards down and confessing what is on their mind and in their hearts results in heartbreak and tears flowing. While for others, there’s pure bliss, and one single shares the season’s first kiss with her suitor.
The heat is on in paradise. Let’s get into it…

Revelations and tears at the second bonfire
The episode begins with the four men at their second bonfire session. For MJ and Sifiso, there’s nothing out of the ordinary. They are shown snippets of their girlfriends – Nthabi and Musa respectively – connecting with their dates. And from the looks of things, there’s nothing for the gents to worry about.
But it’s a different story for Grant and Justin. It isn’t an easy watch. Grant is distraught when he learns that his girlfriend, Precious, feels “unappreciated” in their relationship. As for Justin, he is enraged and slightly disappointed when he is shown a clip of his girlfriend Estelle asking her front-runner Uzzi to not only walk her up to her room, but she suggests, through a hand gesture, that they kiss.
“I’m definitely upset,” says Justin. He is under the impression that Estelle and Uzzi kissed – they didn’t but Justin isn’t going that find out until the end of the journey, of course. “She knows that [kissing] is one step too far,” adds Justin, who isn’t quite ready to give up on his bond with Estelle yet.
Sending mixed signals
There’s tension at the men’s villa this episode following a misunderstanding. After the bonfire meeting, Grant reveals to the men that he is taking Zinhle on a date. It’s refreshing to hear as Grant hasn’t given any other woman a chance before aside from his front-runner Coco. Because news travels fast in the villa, Zinhle overhears the whispers that Grant is finally going to make his big move. But her excitement is short-lived as Grant changes his mind and he chooses to go out for a cocktail date with none other than … Coco. Yet again. Grant’s flip-flopping sets Zinhle and Coco fuming and they both give him a piece of their minds.
Musa is moving on
Grant isn’t the only man in the firing line this episode. Musa breaks Kwanele’s heart when she “sets him free” to explore his connection with other women. Kwanele doesn’t see it coming, which is why he doesn’t take the rejection well. He begins to crumble, as the scenario is a painful reminder of his past relationships that didn’t work out, and left him feeling unworthy of love. “Maybe I’m not going to meet anyone. [I’m scared] that I’ll end up [alone],” says Kwanele during his confessionals, with tears streaming.
Love is on the cards?
While Nthabi is on her best behaviour, rejecting temptation from all angles, her boyfriend MJ has established a romantic connection with his front-runner, Bontle. The pair can’t keep their hands off each other after the drinking game at the men’s villa.
To further shake things up, Bontle puts MJ in the hot seat when she questions where he stands with her. Without hesitation, MJ confesses that he is in love with Bontle before they kiss. “Your soul is beautiful. I need that for myself because I want to be part of that,” says MJ to Bontle while they cuddle on the couch. So, it’s safe to predict that Nthabi might be shown a clip of MJ kissing Bontle and proclaiming his undying love for her in the next bonfire session, which might compromise their relationship.
