LaConco’s high-profile relationship: The Real Housewives of Durban Season 2 episode 2
It looks like the ladies are getting real on The Real Housewives of Durban Season 2 episode 2 and we’re here for it! If you recall, on season one, LaConco was very reluctant to share some parts of her life with the world, especially details about her relationship with a top South African politician. However, now that things have ended and she has healed, she’s ready to let us in on what life now looks like for her.

A lonely relationship
While speaking to Mabusi, LaConco, revealed how she dealt with the breakup. She said she was lonely in her relationship and felt like her ex-partner wasn’t present. “Remember, when you are in a relationship, but there’s no presence. When I say ‘presence’ I am not referring to being smothered every day. But there are certain things, certain decisions that a woman wants or wanted to make and actually, there’s no one for me. And those decisions require a head of the home, the man of the house,” she told Mabusi.
How did she heal from the situation? Well, LaConco gave herself time. She believes that it’s important for women to go through all the phases that come with a breakup. “Go through a phase of being in denial, go through a phase of acceptance, reality and then you move forward,” she said.
The final stage: acceptance
She also shared that when she first met some of the ladies on the first season of the show, she wasn’t ready to share that part of her life with them. “The first time we met, I told Nonku to Google me. It was a point in my life where I was still dealing with it and didn’t want to be disturbed,” she said, adding that a woman should never be all over the place where her emotions are concerned. “It doesn’t help to keep walking with a bleeding wound.”
LaConco also revealed that she has accepted the whole situation now and that she has a good support system around her. “I realised how things were and I had to accept it and then surrendered everything to God,” she said, adding, “My biggest lesson is to accept.”
It’s starting to look like Mabusi and LaConco’s friendship is progressing and they’re now at a stage where they can be real with each other.
“I really feel for you because when we get into a relationship, we are in it for the long haul. You also have a … how you envision your life with the person especially when you have a child together,” Mabusi said.
